Please someone tell me that Tom Stoppard is writing a play about this whole Kate Middleton thing. Lie if you have to.

Last January, I noticed something peculiar in my 2yo’s bedroom that - after a year of obsessive reporting - led me to a profound cosmic revelation about what’s even possible in our universe. A 🧵.

Any Victorian Britain scholars amongst my followers? What are some good books about daily life in Victorian England? Looking specifically at the early 1870s so bonus points if it’s more focused on that part of the era.

Help! Have you seen anything like this before and if so, can you tell me more? These birds are made of silk threads pasted down onto fabric and then cut out and put onto paper. They are from the 1850s at the latest but our hunch is much earlier. Thank you!

Friend, seeing my house for the first time: So all your family photos are just taped to the fridge but you’ve got like 30 nicely framed 18th-century art prints and TWO different autographed pictures of Stephen Sondheim on your walls. God you are so flipping on brand for yourself.

@fallofasparrow @SydneyTheatreCo Of course she designed this! I should have known. One of my all-time favorite costume designers, her work is just extraordinary. Her costumes for David McAllister’s Sleeping Beauty still knock me down flat. So jealous you got to experience her artistry up close!

One of the many awesome things about Halloween in Japan is the annual "Mundane Halloween" costume contest sponsored by website @dailyportalz The goal is to dress up like some mundane, everyday situation. Here is a thread of my favorites from this year!

Japanese halloween is great for many reasons, but one of the greatest is the annual "mundane halloween" contest hosted by website @dailyportalz, where people dress up like mundane, everyday things. Here is a thread of some of my favorites from 2020...

Japan has given us so many great things. One of the greatest is the annual "Mundane Halloween" contest run by website @dailyportalz, as well as people who submit their own on twitter. The point is to dress up as something super ordinary. Here are some of my favorites this year!

Mundane Halloween is back! Japan does Halloween better than anyone, but best of all is the annual "mundane Halloween" contest sponsored by website @dailyportalz. The point is to dress up as something super ordinary. Here are some of my favorites from this year...

Somewhere Peter Morgan is working on a play called 48 Hours in Balmoral, set in one sitting room, with the senior royals (and Harry) flowing in and out in various groups/states of agita and drunkenness, w Andrew in a corner wondering if he'll be soon punted into the sun, etc. -H
