De langdurige stagnatie in de woningbouw (stikstof!) wordt steeds ernstiger. Want als de productiecapaciteit van een typisch woningbouwproduct als kanaalplaten daalt dan zal het steeds moeilijker worden om de bouw weer op te starten.

After the assassination of Charlie Kirk, many are asking about the shooter 'How could such a smart, promising young person from a normal, stable family get so radicalized so quickly by propaganda & peer pressure, into committing such extreme violence?' I think it helps to step back from current American political landscape and study some historical precedents. One compelling example is the Chinese Cultural Revolution (1966-1976), in which millions of China's brightest young people -- especially university students -- became Mao's shock troops, to help Mao purge the CCP of his more moderate political rivals, and reinforce his total personal control over China. The youth got radicalized by communist propaganda into betraying their parents, beating their professors to death, burning books, toppling statues, and despising everything about their traditional Han Chinese civilization. And then they started hyper-radicalizing each other in a runaway arms race of political virtue-signaling -- to a degree that Mao himself could sometimes barely control. A great source to learn about this is the China History Podcast by genius podcaster Laszlo Montgomery. He did an outstanding, well-researched, 8-part series on the Cultural Revolution (see Episodes 83-90; link in replies below.) Notably, the Cultural Revolution never really burned out. It just kept going, on and on, destroying their civilizational legacy, for ten years... until Mao himself died, and his successors struggled for power using different strategies.

@Flattery88 I feel your pain. As an engineering teacher, I sometimes have to teach engineering to students who would probably be better off in art or music school. Being young is very my much about discovering your talents and weaknesses and finding your place in society accordingly.

@Flattery88 I also once was a kid that drove his piano teacher crazy, I guess. 😁 In the end we all had to accept that my talents were elsewhere. I practically forgot how to play the piano, although I still can read notes.

Today I had a piano lesson with a girl that has been driving me absolutely crazy. She has put zero effort into trying to learn the things that I’ve been putting above and beyond effort to teach her. But today given strength by Charlie Kirk, and his patience, I upped my effort.

Grote scheuren in het beton, en gedeeltelijk weggeroeste balken. Een terecht besluit van de gemeente om deze parkeergarage 't Panwurk te sluiten.

@CobouwNL Jarenlang heeft deze bom op scherp gestaan. Pas toen hij meer dan 20 jaar later de toren wou verkopen kon hij er echt niet meer omheen, en moest hij iets aan de constructieve veiligheid doen omdat hij hem anders niet kon verkopen? Zie ik dit zo goed? 2/2 l1nieuws.nl/nieuws/2911069…

@CobouwNL Als ik alle nu bekende feiten op chronologische volgorde zet, dan lijkt het erop (ik zeg het voorzichtig) dat de eigenaar al in 1999 door de gemeente was gewaarschuwd dat de toren bouwvallig was, en dat iedereen dat ook gewoon kon zien, maar dat de toren gewoon open bleef. 1/2

Parkeergarage 't Panwurk in Dokkum is uit voorzorg gesloten. De parkeergarage stamt uit ongeveer 1995, en bestaat uit staalplaatbetonvloeren op koudgevormde stalen liggers. Ik ben benieuwd wat hier mis mee kan zijn. Zo oud is het allemaal nog niet. 1/2
