Some personalities are difficult to work with—they may create division and stir up trouble, sometimes unintentionally. Steamrollers are particularly challenging, but may not recognize how their actions are impacting the team. Clue them in, coach them, and adjust accordingly!

Power dynamics can enable organizations to meet objectives and resolve conflict when they are appropriately assigned. Still, they have a dark side when they are used to manipulate others. Make sure the power dynamics on your team are purposed to serve, not alienate. #QOTD

Our capabilities are like tools in a toolbox. Your toolbox may fill up faster than someone else’s. Learn to meet that person where they are, and capitalize on the tools they have now. There’s a time and a place to challenge and push them, but don’t set them up for failure.

Just reread the book… so good on so many levels. So well written. So well researched. So many good and relatable stories. So pragmatic. So helpful to so many. So good - so God!

@RobertIrvine Couldn't agree more! We all have a story we tell ourselves about events that take place and sadly we usually view ourselves as the victim and others as the villians. Great perspective Chef!

IT'S ALL ABOUT HOW YOU FRAME IT⁣ I recently caught up with a friend of mine I hadn't seen in a couple of years. He's one of those friends that I've known forever, and even though we don't get to see each other very often, each meeting feels like no time has passed. ⁣ ⁣ This meeting, however, took an unexpected turn. My friend started to tell me about a few of his recent disappointments in life. Some trouble with family members, and some more with one of his coworkers. I'm always happy to listen. Of course, what are friends for? But what struck me about his problems wasn't that they were particularly unique or devastating. What worried me is how he was FRAMING these problems. In each instance, he saw the transgressors as people who had acted AGAINST him, rather than people who were merely acting in their own self-interest. The fact that he suffered from their actions is still unfortunate, still worthy of exploration, and still worthy of telling a trusted friend who could help. In this instance, my help was this: "Dude, I don't think any of these people did anything TO you. I think they're just like a lot of people in this world: selfish when it comes down to it. You were just caught in the crossfire." ⁣ ⁣ He thought on this for a minute. While it didn't solve these problems, the new framing helped lessen the impact they were having on him. Yes, it was bad, but it wasn't PERSONAL. And taking things personally has a way of exacerbating the issue in our minds and damaging our mental health. ⁣ ⁣ Next time you're feeling like someone has it out for you, ask yourself: Are they doing this to me, or are they just looking out for themselves? If you can unlock this higher perspective—and manage to treat your transgressors with kindness—I bet you're going to feel a whole lot better about the situation. ⁣ ⁣ #MondayMotivation

It’s okay to hate the feeling of rejection. In fact, it’s okay to fear it. The danger comes when you allow the threat of rejection to stop you from your purpose. Even if rejection is a possibility, do it anyway. #TuesdayswithSamChand

As leaders, many of us feel the pressure to don false personas, masks, and personalities in order to please others. The greatest satisfaction—and success—that you’ll ever experience comes when you accept and improve who you truly are! #Leadership #DRC #TonyRodriguez

Ask yourself an honest question: If your team were to act just like you, speak just like you, and lead just like you, would you want to work with them? Would you like them? Strive to lead the way you would want to be led. #QOTD
