Mark Robinson called public school teachers “wicked people.” Now he’s saying wicked people “need killing” as a “matter of necessity.” Anyone who talks about teachers the same way he talks about terrorists is too dangerous to be North Carolina’s next governor.

How do you publish this 36 hours after Super Tuesday and not even mention Austin and Houston’s election results? Counties’ combined population — 6 million people.

@PatBayerNC Interesting, thanks for looking this up! What does the UNA number look like over those periods? Constant struggle with this data is whether the rising GOP number implies something about the partisanship of the UNA as well.

@otis_reid Not sure about FL, but in NC 2-way share somewhat overstates trend because a rapidly growing % of new registrants are UNA. Among Black voters currently registered in NC, share GOP by registration date is: Nov 22- Nov 23: 4.6% Nov 20-22: 3.8% Nov 18-20: 3.2% Nov 16-18: 3.1%

(This is two-way share, so there are lots of unaffiliated voters still. Also curious if anyone else is seeing a different pattern -- it feels like this is pretty straightforward, but also when you see something this stark, sometimes there's data funkiness.)

We continue to analyze the surge in women engaging in this midterm election since Dobbs. We'll be sharing updates on several states voter reg data soon, along with early voting data sooner than you'd think! In the meantime, a few big picture observations:

A few facts on Pell Grant recipients who have student debt: -They make up 60% of student loan borrowers (27M) -Nearly all come from families making under 60k; two-thirds come from families making under 30k -98% currently make under 100k a year 1/
