Mark Robinson called public school teachers “wicked people.” Now he’s saying wicked people “need killing” as a “matter of necessity.” Anyone who talks about teachers the same way he talks about terrorists is too dangerous to be North Carolina’s next governor.

@otis_reid Among Black voters currently registered in NC, share GOP/UNA/DEM is: Nov 22- 23: 4.6/41.5/52.5 Nov 20-22: 3.8/36.8/58.8 Nov 18-20: 3.2/28.4/67.9 Nov 16-18: 3.1/30.1/66.3 I agree - hard to know how partisanship of UNA is changing w/ just these #s.

@PatBayerNC Interesting, thanks for looking this up! What does the UNA number look like over those periods? Constant struggle with this data is whether the rising GOP number implies something about the partisanship of the UNA as well.

@otis_reid Not sure about FL, but in NC 2-way share somewhat overstates trend because a rapidly growing % of new registrants are UNA. Among Black voters currently registered in NC, share GOP by registration date is: Nov 22- Nov 23: 4.6% Nov 20-22: 3.8% Nov 18-20: 3.2% Nov 16-18: 3.1%

(This is two-way share, so there are lots of unaffiliated voters still. Also curious if anyone else is seeing a different pattern -- it feels like this is pretty straightforward, but also when you see something this stark, sometimes there's data funkiness.)

What DeSantis is doing here may be the most cynical, antidemocratic, & nakedly destructive of people’s lives maneuvers I can think in recent US politics. Beyond any politics, it’s just so horrible & tragic to these people. miamiherald.com/news/politics-…

Results in Shelby County! Steve Mulroy (D) leads GOP DA Amy Weirich in the early voting, 56% to 44%. So the results may tighten as Election Day votes comes in, but this already covers 83K ballots. (There were 145K ballots in the last DA race.) Context: boltsmag.org/tennessee-shel…
