@EJWoolf Interesting that the Mirror uses “council” housing rather than “social” housing. Is that because more people understand the phrase council housing.., which I support btw.

@JamesMelville If the mindless felling of one tree can be so emotive to the nation, then why not the destruction of a whole forest? They're not just there to look pretty.

lIf you do anything today, watch @MaeveHalligan at the Cambridge Union. I genuinely think this was the first time many people in that room were confronted with the hard reality of the trans debate, rather than the slogans that usually surround it. @BuckAngel was exceptional: calm, articulate, humane. Ultimate respect. And then there was Helen Webberley. I remember once thinking the criticism directed at her by GC women was excessive, especially the claim she was ‘pure evil’. After hearing her speak, I no longer think that. She is totally insincere. I can deal with hard ideologues- they believe they are telling the truth; they are genuine, @HelenWebberley is different. One audience member, a trans-identified male and former patient of hers, stood to speak during points of information. His account of how he had been treated was deeply disturbing. Watch the full debate. It is worth your time.

MAEVE FRICKING HALLIGAN 🔥🔥🔥🔥 This is Maeve's full speech from last night vs Helen Webberley and others. It will go down in history as a defining moment in the struggle for women and LGBs in the face of trans ideology. Helen Webberley is called out and a trans person in the audience even calls Webberley "nothing but a grifter" to her face.

@MaeveHalligan at the Cambridge Union ‘Be brave, Let yourself question the narrative that you’re being fed, Don’t tell me to ‘be kind’, if being kind involves lying to and medicalising kids, betraying lesbian and gay people, rolling back women’s hard-fought rights and hurling threats at those who object. Again, hatred, you talk about it: try being a woman who knows what one of those are - I’ll tell you about hatred. No, I don’t subscribe to this kindness, and I’ll tell the truth instead - I speak in favour of this motion. Be brave, and support it as well.’

@MaeveHalligan at the Cambridge Union. Maeve is one of the bravest people I know. The amount @CUSocOfWomen has gone through simply to exist, organise, and speak openly is unreal. At the beginning of this year, I could barely exist in Cambridge normally. I was too scared to go into the city centre alone, eat in my dining hall, go to lectures, the gym, anything. I am now almost completely immune to it. A huge part of that is down to Maeve’s strength. To watch her tonight was huge.

I want to thank @Eluned_Morgan for the over 30 years of service she has already given to our country and our party. Eluned has been a formidable First Minister and tireless champion for Wales. She broke barriers and has never stopped fighting for families in the communities she loves. Together we have worked to lift children out of poverty, cut hospital waiting lists, and create thousands of new jobs. I have no doubt her contribution to Wales will endure.

BREAKING NEWS “Furious” Starmer was not told local elections had taken place yesterday. The PM claims civil servants kept him in the dark until this morning. He has ordered an enquiry into why the elections had gone ahead without his knowledge. “I thought we’d cancelled them” he told Sky News.
