🚨BREAKING: President Trump wants America to change 'SOCCER' to 'FOOTBALL' aligning itself with the rest of the world When asked what that means for the NFL (American football) he said: "We have to COME UP with another name for the NFL. It really doesn't make sense when you think about it... This is really football." "But when you think about it, shouldn't it really be called 'football'? I mean, this is FOOTBALL! There's no question about it." "When you look at what is happening to football in the US, soccer in the US, we seem to never call it like that (football) because we have a little bit of a conflict with another thing that's called football." Trump gets it What an absolute patriot 🫡

“Unlike the main populist parties in France or Germany, Reform’s support is heavily skewed to older voters and comparatively marginal among the youngest sections of the electorate.” This is true, but why? 🧵
UnHerd@unherd

Yesterday, Nigel Farage announced that Reform UK would keep the triple lock if elected to government. The move is a short-term electoral gain that undermines the party’s project, writes @peterfranklin_ 👇 buff.ly/dE1OdbY

It’s very obvious to me that Tommy Robinson’s United the Kingdom rallies and the raise the colours campaign where establishment endorsed pressure release valve campaigns. I’m not saying everyone who raised a flag or attended a rally is a fed. Obviously not. But I think the establishment pushed the campaign and the rallies in the media to provide an outlet for frustrations they knew wouldn’t actually lead anywhere. A good rule of thumb is if the media are covering it then its establishment approved. We have to stop falling for these containment ops. We need to get angry and we need to mobilise that anger into tactics that are actually effective at delivering change.

Should we be concerned that both global superpowers are hastily reconfiguring their military leadership? -Presumably because they told their politicians "NO" to something.

It wasn’t that long ago millions of young people had some of the best months of their lives stolen from them all to unsuccessfully avoid what was a nasty cold for the overwhelming majority. To suggest youngsters have not sacrificed anything in recent years is offensive guff.

There are 2 issues that dominate politics. The economy and immigration. The right has immigration which the left cannot touch on and the left have economics which the right CAN capitalise on. Boomers had one hell of a run but there needs to now be a pivot to millenials and the zoomers.

Young people Pensioners getting a pension they can live off of after working their whole damn lives - is not an attack on us It is the hotel dwellers and those that can’t be arsed to work - that we have to pay for that are the problem That is the actual unfairness here

Operation Raise the Colours didn't lead to anything. The Tommy march did nothing. Amelia was forgotten. Gammonzilla did not rise. At each stage of the way I was called everything, and I insisted on falling out with those who make it a friend-enemy issue. This must continue.

Reform supporting Boomers after their triple lock is secured, sitting on houses they bought for £24k now worth £950k, final salary pensions, free uni, cheap energy, no cost of living crisis, no major war, no AI threats Meanwhile their grandson: – paying £1.5k rent for a mouldy box room – facing the highest inflation in 50 years – energy bills that look like phone numbers – petrol prices flirting with “sell a kidney” territory – competing with AI for entry-level jobs – told to “just save harder” while avocado toast costs £6

It's actually not losing my "tether to reality" to notice that America keeps attacking European energy supplies, as it has now happened twice with no care or concern for the effect on our countries. America is going to lose Europe to protect Israel.
Aristonkle@ParanoidPol

A large segment of UK based influencers, in seeing the managed decline of their country, have shifted markedly to the right. That’s to be expected given the circumstances and the need for immigration reform there. But they’ve also lost their tether to reality and become indistinguishable from leftists when it comes to world events.

One generation climbed the ladder of postwar prosperity and homeownership, then presided over planning restrictions, financialisation, globalisation without any adequate protections, and short-term policies that inflated existing assets while making opportunity scarcer for everyone else.

@PatGil78031 @sophielouisecc Most selfish? The most selfish are those who don't and won't work these days and are on benefits. We strove to make things better for ourselves and our kids and often did without. No handouts for us low wage earners in those days.

Only young men can enforce their political opinions. As a result, when it comes to the crunch time, only their opinions matter.
