Personally, I think saints are among the coolest aspects of the Catholic Church, which I was brought up in, educated by nuns, some brandishing rulers (including one whose ruler could've beaten back Errol Flynn & his sword) & all w/pointers

@Neutral_OC Thank you that is interesting. To me they were part of the same conversation. I’m autistic and really like to understand things that I don’t understand. Can you explain the reverence for the pope and cardinals as I really don’t get that.

@PatGrove2 You have moved to a different conversation The kissing of statue is something I do not do, and no one is mandated to. And for people who do it, it is a sign of reverence for the person the statue represents just as someone might kiss a photo of a loved one. It is not worship.

@Neutral_OC Hero worshipping another human who wears odd clothing and then all the ritual stuff like kissing the feet of statues. It just feels odd to me as an outsider. I want to understand why, that’s all.

@JeremyVineOn5 How about we put some actual services in place to help folk with anxiety etc. Then redistribute wealth from the millionaires and billionaires so working is worthwhile and people have reasons to live.

Do we need to stop giving out benefits for anxiety? More than 100 new claims a day are being awarded to Brits for benefits linked to anxiety and depression. Do we need to get tough to save cash? Or do you think there are root causes that need addressing?
