Catch me speaking to @JonnyDymond on @BBCWorldatOne today about my cancer story, the extraordinary privilege of leading the Government’s work on the National Cancer plan, and the extraordinary things people do every day in our communities which aren’t recognised.

@patmurphybbc So are you saying because of past performances he’s devoid of blame Pat?

@140Shore @patmurphybbc @ECB_cricket They should have been benchmarked against the Ryder Cup captain and management team - proper prep and planning compared to the complete shambles that was the Ashes. On that basis no sane individual could claim that Key/McCullum represent value for what they are paid.

@patmurphybbc @ECB_cricket Australia had injuries to key players. A big thumbs down from me for England not even running them close.

@patmurphybbc Definitely, although I still think his " There's no place for weak men in my dressing room" was a bit strange especially when some players were obviously struggling on tour.

@patmurphybbc @ECB_cricket Well said Pat. The old pals act has been going on since Key was appointed. And he comments after being interviewed by his mates on Sky yesterday just sums it all up. It was abject failure in Australia and in any other business you’d be sacked or you’d resign. It’s crazy.

@patmurphybbc @ECB_cricket I agree Pat. The idea that the ‘internal review’ will not be published makes me wonder if there’s actually been a review or have they just come up with some sound bites over a pint.

30 years ago today @AVFCOfficial won the @Carabao_Cup 3-0 at @wembstadium….seems like yesterday… thank you to all my wonderful teammates, the manager and the staff, the club & administrators and especially the fans for a memorable day..miss you all(especially you Jim Walker)…xmb @premierleague

Yes and you have missed Carlos Alberto.

Jon Holmes, Britain's first big sports agent, is retiring after 50 years of looking after Shilton, Lineker, Gower, Atherton and many more. Here's my story-packed interview with him for @ObserverUK observer.co.uk/news/sport/art…

@NormanGiller @patmurphybbc @lecrin Totally agree. The Brazil 1970 squad may not have been great defensively, but they were majestic in possession. Forget Tica-Taca, so beloved of modern coaches, and watch the whole move for the 4th goal of the 1970 Final. I’ve always thought team goals are prettier than solo ones.
