@NovaStarting5 Yes that is the new college basketball part. But under the current set of rules(Not Trumps rules) and the current culture it’s hard to imagine good players staying at Nova.

@PatScottHanlon5 Surely this is a Villanova issue and not a systemic issue across all P5 schools! No top tier P5 starters, like Flory at Kansas, are leaving their programs!

Really tough news for the program. Not being able to retain Lewis is very, very tough. Have to wonder where we turn now.

@tommygodinjr Giving him everything he wanted yet still deciding to portal is also crazy. The grass isn’t always greener. There’s countless examples of that. Whatever.

Acaden Lewis transferring is everything that is wrong with the transfer portal. I wish him the best of luck, and I’m confident he’s going to land on his feet, but this is crazy to me.

Current 2026-2027 Villanova depth chart: PG: Acaden Lewis, Chris Jeffery SG: Tyler Perkins, Bryce Lindsay, Malcolm Flaggs SF: Malachi Palmer PF: Matt Hodge C: Braden Pierce, Nico Onyekwere. Not including Stanford as he departed the team and will inevitably transfer. I believe that leaves 4 open scholarship spots if nobody portals out (which won’t happen)

Villanova needs to look at the teams still dancing. Almost all have scoring bigs who can control the paint and create easy offense when needed. Guard play still matters but balance is needed. To get better next season, Nova needs that inside presence. #NovaNation #MarchMadness
