@sportslarryk @gggiants @BASportsDude7 Not really fair to say “it’s not about the stats” just because the stats completely contradict the point you’re trying to make. The dude had a 2.34 ERA coming into that outing pitching almost exclusively late-innings in close games.

It’s not about his stats. It’s about his stuff. His stuff plays better in the middle innings. The hitters can wait so long on his low velocity pitches and it becomes easy for them to slap hit his pitches to the opposite field. He’s a rubber armed reliever. He’s a different look. He’s major league caliber, but he needs to be used earlier in games IMO

Shocker, #SFGiants Tyler Rogers isn’t getting the job done in a late inning situation. Rogers needs to be spotted and used in innings 3-6. His stuff is too iffy for the 8th, 9th and he should never be used in extras. When will BoMel figure this out?
