Got asked on devshort why I don't think raids work on WF, so sharing my thoughts. tl;dr I don't believe you can have good raids without challenge. And you can't have challenge without balance changes. 1/10

@high_drifter_ @PabloMakes I have been playing since 2017, i am LR6 with all the accolade glyphs and I run ETA and EDA with all modifiers. I like challenging content and a raid-like experience would be cool, coop content is my favourite. But I am realistic and know that raids would not work in warframe.

@PabloMakes Like it’s makes zero sense destiny has raids and bosses and it has terrible balance. Destiny without raids would be terrible sans the last two. That game proves you can have raids in a pve environment. Idk why this take when your direct competitor has done it.

@PNx_VecToR @DigitalExtremes Also, the Arcane shop was necessarry since DE moved the max rank of the Eidolon arcanes from R3 to R5 in the update prior to the op. Back then, you needed just 10 of each instead of the contemporary 21. However, I am not a fan of them adding arcanes to all subsequent operations

@PNx_VecToR @DigitalExtremes Scarlet Spear was great... after like two weeks of hotfixing. Turns out that launching an event around a crumbling gamemode is not that good of an idea. But in the end, I have fond memories of the operation, I hope that DE can do something with the OpLink mechanic in the future.

At a time where Covid restrictions forced @DigitalExtremes to work from home, the Scarlet Spear event was launched. YES. The event was buggy! YES. The event was FUN! YES. The event brought Tenno together in epic Railjack (Space) & Ground (Earth) assaults, with each team of 4 relying on uplink codes being transmitted from earth to the Railjack team intercepting the Murexes. What the Warframe trading community WON'T tell you, is probably that their hatred for this event, is because Scarlet Spear was the first event to introduce the Arcane shop. At a time where R5 Energise & Grace sold for 4,000 Plat + this event NUKED the Arcane trade market. A lot of plat was probably lost that day. However, Tenno like myself was able to obtain all the missing R5 Arcanes! This begs the questions, SHOULD the Arcane event shop ever have existed in the first place, OR should in-game items be event shop locked so players have a better chance at making plat? As a trader myself, I'm lucky that my plat making strat wasn't just reliant on selling R5 Arcanes. @apex_bravado @HydraD0minatus @bumbadum14 the only non-permanent mission that comes to mind is scarlet spear (though that was kinda repurposed into orphix?), otherwise the operations that did not have new mission type attached were just about killing specific enemies in normal missions (which also stayed afterwards)

@Patash_ @HydraD0minatus @bumbadum14 Some missions, not all of the Operations released new missions or stayed in the game. The main problem is the lore. Those missions are basically not even tied into the story, just forgotten procedurally generated tilesets on nodes no one will care about and no dialogue.

Bungie deserves to be shut down. Bungie deserves to go under and be totally absorbed by Sony. Bungie is literally the first company in video game history to retroactively delete hundreds of dollars worth of content people purchased. World of Warcraft has been around for over a decade longer than destiny 2 and has never had to delete part of its own game because of “data bloat.” Which is a pathetic excuse considering the game has DOZENS OF GIGABYTES OF UNCOMPRESSED MUSIC FILES. Bungie literally ROBBED players of data THEY PURCHASED, then turned its flagship game into a cash shop. You open D2 and it goes straight to eververse. They present themselves as some anti-capitalist progressive company. Meanwhile they have now settled TWO LAWSUITS OVER IP THEFT. 1 FOR DESTINY 2 AND ONE FOR MARATHON. It’s a joke and the whole org needs to be gutted by Sony. I hope marathon fails so it bankrupts those frauds and makes every developer there that worked to delete content they stole from players go to the unemployment line. Fuck Bungie for what they did. The people that made halo are long gone and it’s a hollow of its former self.

@apex_bravado @HydraD0minatus @bumbadum14 Operations were limited timed events that were released with new missions, which stayed in the game after the end. Lore is a different story, I agree that is an issue, but the core content remained.

@HydraD0minatus @bumbadum14 This is just not fucking true at all you cannot play the old Operations nor can you even view the lore of them even when they play critical roles in quests like Alad V and Stalker. You can only encounter the remnants of it. They just don't rotate out whole ass content drops.
