MDUSD Career Pathways

Did you know MDUSD has a Middle College Program with Diablo Valley College? This program is called College Now and it has an amazing counselor Rima Boujaoude. Student take both high school and community college courses while Rima helps them achieve their academic goals!

We wanted to wish everybody a Happy National School Counseling Week! School Counselors are vital resources in school districts who support our students in critical social-emotional and academic settings. Please take the time to give a big thank you to your site counselor(s)!

We had an amazing turn out for our Mock Interviews at Ygnacio Valley High School. Students were able to learn what industry partners look for in applicants and test their interviewing skills. Great job!

A Bay Area local and has worked in education for over 12 years, we want to introduce Anna Ramos! Anna is dedicated to help students find their career path and always brings a positive attitude. She also assist with program development across MDUSD.

Our amazing Career Pathways Team had the chance to attend the Career and Technical Education Conference in Palm Springs. We learn about innovative learning and best teaching practices in CTE along with leadership development and what’s new in CTE.

Coming all the way from Joliet, Illinois please say hello to Amanda Witczak! Amanda has been with MDUSD for five years and is excited to be starting her new role as a Career Pathways Counselor. She wants to help support students in discovering their interests and passions in CTE

Give a warm welcome to Samantha Ayala who is a Work Based Learning Coordinator with MDUSD. Samantha assists our CTE teachers with a variety of different tasks from planning field trips to scheduling guest speakers. Please say hi to Samantha if you see her at your school!

Now we would like to introduce Alicia Navarrete who is our new College and Career Specialist for Career Pathways. Alicia is excited to help students & teachers in our district with career planning, post-secondary exploration, and program development.

Our Concord High School Art Digital Media Pathway students were able to present their final designs and mock up from Calitho. We were blown away and the students did an amazing job!

Our team participated in the College & Career Access Pathway (CCAP) STEM Academy Business Advisory Retreat host at Diablo Valley College. We went over our 2024 outcomes, heard from student speakers, and went on a tour of the DVC Engineering Department!

The MDUSD High School Counseling Department was able to attend The California State University Counseling Conference. We learned about supporting student success, financial aid and new University updates. We can't wait to help our students apply to CSUs this Fall semester!
