Senate Democrats that vote for Clarity will be excoriated by the media and their base for giving Trump a win. Crypto will be a centerpiece of the messaging against Trump and the Republicans in the midterms. Democrats want a world where the government has control and oversight of the financial system. Every transaction can monitored and censored by an authority. Undesirables can be debanked. Bitcoin and crypto pushes the world in the opposite direction. It doesn’t matter if Clarity is good policy. It needs Democrat votes to pass and they have a worldview that opposes crypto. Most Democrats politicians wish crypto would just go away.
