@PaulPabst Dive: Rossi’s. Where else sells $4 Hamms at 7 am Cocktail: It’s cozy more than high-end, but Love Street is unmatched for cocktails plus atmosphere

@bloss_henry24 Yup, there wouldn’t be any talk of punishing a conference title game loser because we wouldn’t know they were in good position before they lost. Whoever was left out wouldn’t be all that sympathetic a victim because they could only point to a bubble-worthy resume as their case.

@PatrickEngel_ Additionally, if there was no weekly rankings show, there’d be no reason to have Bama in. Bama has been playing pretty bad football for 5 weeks now. If we didn’t have a show on Tuesday saying they’re in, then we wouldn’t be having any debate on Sunday

If Notre Dame was left out of the CFP after a sole rankings reveal like March Madness rather than the last of several ratings ploy babble fests, I don’t think it goes down as an all-time infamous snub. Same if it were Alabama or Miami. Their resumes belong around the bubble (1/2)

But I don’t blame Notre Dame for feeling like a piece in a guessing game for mass entertainment. Weekly rankings reveals turn selection into that. Someone will always be the 1st team out. But we don’t need something that invites more room for bad logic and process to choose who.

The absurdity and hypocrisy of Lane Kiffin repeatedly playing the victim card after walking out on a playoff team for a rival cannot be understated. The only thing more absurd would be taking his version of events with even a tiny grain of sympathy.
Ross Dellenger@RossDellenger

Lane Kiffin says he did not know, for certain until about 8:30 a.m. Sunday - 30 minutes before a scheduled team meeting - that he would not be allowd to coach the playoffs. He was under impression before the 8:30 phone call from AD Keith Carter that he would coach the playoffs.

Yeah, I'm going to pat myself on the back for this one....I predicted Joey O'Brien to Notre Dame back on March 18, 2024.

Notre Dame had the athleticism, strength and toughness on par with the sport’s 2020s standard-setter and punched them in the mouth. Gotta be beyond refreshing for Irish fans after ND’s prior CFP games and the 2012 BCS title. Marcus Freeman and staff built an impressive roster.

I cannot imagine Notre Dame has had too many safety tandems with noses for the ball and takeaways like Adon Shuler and Xavier Watts have.

The CFP argument was dumb was because anyone who watched Alabama this year knew it wasn't typical Alabama. The ceiling was high and the floor was low. Going to bat so hard for *this* Bama team, to tear down other schools having great years, was such a bad look, and here we are.

Eleven teams are going to lose at some point in the CFP this year. I sincerely hope that people do not relitigate each team's right to play this out on the field. This is the whole point of an expanded bracket. If a team isn't good enough to win the national title, it won't!

the Cubs haven't won a playoff game since 2017 this return may hurt eventually but if Tucker gives them the best chance to get back to relevance/contention ASAP, great I'd rather more teams in their position prioritize present opportunities over preserving the unknown future
Céspedes Family BBQ@CespedesBBQ

that's a lot for one year of any player but as with Boston & Crochet, extremely refreshing to see a maddeningly cautious team like the Cubs make an aggressive move like this to get a legitimate star they so desperately need
