@kevinjondavies @DWASonline Hi Kevin I cover a fair bit of this in my new book, having had a long chat with Jan. The original Westfield version of DWAS started in 1975 as I expect you know. He recalls that the gathering to watch the BFI clip was in April 76.

Film is Fabulous! has recovered a missing episode of The Morecambe And Wise Show. The episode forms part of the comedy duo’s first series for the BBC. The recovery is timely, as it will help mark Eric Morecambe’s centenary celebrations on 14th May, 2026.

On this day in 1969, the Comedy Playhouse pilot of The Liver Birds was broadcast. Written by Carla Lane, Myra Taylor and Lew Schwarz it starred Pauline Collins and Polly James (Collins left after S1). Apart from the titles, nothing from the pilot or S1 exists in the archives.
