Since 2024, when it was introduced the Zimbabwean currency has been very stable. The only stable currency since the fall of the Zim dollar in the early 2000 after being hit by western Sanctions. When Zimbabwe took over it's land, the Western sanctions hit so hard to the collapse of the Zim dollar. 5 April 2024, Zimbabwe introduced the ZiG. Since then currency remains very stable-competing with the South African Rand. As the Zimbabwe's economy continues to grow, ZiG might become stronger and stronger.

A Zimbabwean employee at Mug & Bean, OR Tambo International Airport, is alleged to have stolen R90,000 on Sunday night before disappearing. Reports claim he may have fled to Zimbabwe. A criminal case has been opened, and the South African Police are appealing to the public for any information that could help locate the suspect. As with any criminal investigation, these are allegations until proven in court. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the police.
