Today, we published our work on the pure kinetic inductance coupling between generalized flux qubits and their readout modes (doi.org/10.1063/5.0218…). This type of coupling offers an additional tuning knob independent of the capacitance matrix!

Very excited to share our results on the coherence characterization of a dual-rail cavity qubit! My colleague John Garmon and I will be giving back-to-back presentations on Thursday morning (S47.00008/9). AND: granular aluminum resonators with unprecedented Qi (N47.00007/8).

@fink_johannes Interesting indeed! I definitely agree with the part about being a post-doc in the US

great interview + valuable career advice: “I've come to believe that there is an optimal country for each stage in your physics career. Certainly you want to be a postdoc in the US, but you don't necessarily want to be an assistant professor there.”

ever heard of radio-over-fiber? we implement single-shot qubit readout without any cryo microwave components: arxiv.org/abs/2310.16817 remove the clutter in your dill fridge! :)

@tahantech @Yale_QI @JTeohQuantum @PNASNews We apologize for not citing your papers in our publication, it is the unfortunate result of a miscommunication during the end phase of the publication process. We are currently taking steps to add them to the manuscript. We do acknowledge your work in our talks on the topic.

Attending the SQA conference in Munich #SQAConf2023 It was a pleasure talking about erasure conversion in our dual-rail encoding with superconducting cavities. Check out the youtube channel @sqaconference" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">youtube.com/@sqaconference

Together with our friends from quantum circuits, we have demonstrated a superconducting dual-rail cavity qubit with erasure-detected logical measurements reaching logical misassignment errors of 10^-4 (arxiv.org/abs/2307.03169).

Delighted and grateful to have received approval from the ⁦German Research Foundation @dfg_public for the co-funding of two complementary cryogenic quantum control setups. Looking forward to filling the void in our nice lab space ⁦@UniFAU⁩ with equipment! ⁩

@victorvalbert My friend and colleague Dennis Rieger will cover this topic during his presentation (M75.00001), but there won't be a single dedicated talk

In our most recent article, we report on the observation of higher harmonics in the Josephson effect of commonly used aluminum tunnel junctions beyond the celebrated sinusoidal current-phase relation. arxiv.org/abs/2302.09192
