NASA is a socialist program. Full stop. It’s like comparing academia to private industry — those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach… and waste billions on creating and maintaining a government bureaucracy while the private sector actually accomplished practical worthwhile things and launches rockets efficiently with a purpose. The best any government can do is provide public funding to those who prove they merit it, expedite approvals and get out of their way.
