Update: Locals have shared that the field in the background of the photo in @GovSherrillNJ's post is a public school sports field.
EVEN BETTER.
The Governor has choices, and has had access to—and currently embraces—private AND quality public education options for her family, options most New Jersey families don’t have.
Now it's even MORE baffling that she refuses to opt New Jersey into the Education Freedom tax credit program to extend those same opportunities to ALL NJ families. Those scholarships can be used for private school tuition, public and private school-related fees and expenses, homeschooling, tutoring, transportation, and specialized services for students with disabilities. Shouldn't all kids in New Jersey have a crack at equal opportunities?
Regardless, the original point stands. 157 school districts are getting funding cuts in her '27 budget proposal; sports' programs are already on the chopping block, and for many families, that means fewer chances to see their kids play sports.
