Access for disabled people is not a privilege. It is a right.

@PaulASAP @GHMansfield @fairviewsue The statement is true. But what happens to disabled people is often neither just nor fair…. The philosopher John Caputo writes about ethics and has a concept I love: “no more fair/more than fair”… that justice is about “more than fair”.

@kaebee23 I know one in this province that was able to avail of it quickly. Education is key. Many here don't know it exists. We need someone to iron it out 1st tho

@PaulASAP I know people who want to access that are suffering that miss these regulated deadlines and then can’t access, and continue to suffer. so yeah there are all kinds of cracks. It’s hard when you see a lot of sides up close.

They like watching their loved ones suffering and gasping for every last breath in agony like their dear lord says I’m guessing. Fuck letting them choose to pick when they want to die, make them suffer it out. 🤢. Fucking psychos.

@PaulASAP Unfortunately Marlena is just making this worse. She’s making it so you can suffer if you aren’t gonna “die” within her new time frame. She isn’t protecting people. She’ll just exclude those whose death won’t happen in a year. She’s still using the exact framework that’s there.

@kaebee23 Ppl online actually had to intervene on their behalf. It would have been brutal!This law may allow more like them to actually get help now instead.

@PaulASAP That’s fucking horrific. You do need 2 doctor’s approval to get maid, that’s probably why. I’ve seen several, and I personally know several. All were terminally ill and suffering horribly.

@mssinenomine Agreed. If that law was in place before, ppl wouldn't have had to rush & intervene for the one in AB who was poor, depressed & disabled because he wasn't getting help.

I hate that I have to say this but experience on here tells me I do: You are not swearing a loyalty oath to any party or politician by supporting this bill. Saying that it is a good bill does not mean you are saying that other bills or policies aren't bad.

@kaebee23 I get that. Know one who already opted for it. IMHO not wrong there. The guy in Calgary was poor, disabled & depressed because he wasn't getting proper help. He's now doing okay. The Dr in Calgary was encouraging suicide!

@PaulASAP I know. I don’t agree with anyone with being able to access maid for mental heath, and I understand how the poor are being left unhealthy for years to probably end up accepted, but I’ve also seen people facing agonizing death that want to be able to choose not to. 😞
