The AI infrastructure buildout requirements are staggering. OpenAI to receive $50B from Amazon then invest $250B in Azure (that’s right Microsoft). twitter.com/intent/tweet?u…

Anthropic and OpenAI revenues are 20% of software revenues two years ago, so both are likely winners. Is AI eating software or growing the pie? techcrunch.com/2026/04/14/ant…

@BogataTimar Thank you. Encouraging that, in the end, democracy held in Hungary despite Orban’s obstructions, Russian meddling, and U.S. support. The US has a long history supporting dictators in the developing world who serve US, but not local, interests.

okay I guess I have to talk about Péter Magyar here. Let me just start with saying, in a very unladylike way, that you guys seem to have zero clue what happened in Hungary in the last two years, you completely miss the point, and you're a disappointing bunch. Let's go.

Projected impact on Bay Area of 30% hike in gas prices. $1.1 billion loss in household income. For the US overall, that could translate into a $100 billion loss in 2026. jointventure.org/publications/i…

I've spent three years building something I love. Today I'm stepping back from leading it – and I've never been more excited about its future! In early 2023, a dozen of us circled around a table in a San Francisco apartment and spent an entire evening in animated conversation – about LLMs, about AGI, about what all of it meant for the world. ChatGPT had just gone mainstream. We felt the ground shifting and wanted to make sense of it together. That night became @AICollectiveCo. Word spread. A few gatherings turned into a movement. 250+ RSVPs for our third event in a room we'd planned for 20. City by city – New York, Boston, Miami, Paris, then dozens more – chapters emerged, each one led by someone who'd felt the same pull we had in that San Francisco apartment. The same realization that this technology was going to reshape everything, and that the people closest to the frontier had a responsibility to help the world navigate it together. Three years later: 200,000+ members, 150+ chapters, all over the world. A genuine human layer for the AI era. It has been the honor of my life to help build it. Stepping aside as Executive Director is one of the clearest decisions I've made. The AI Collective is something I've poured everything into – and extraordinary times call for extraordinary action. @AJs_AI and @catrosemcmillan are exceptional leaders who understand this community deeply. They're going to take it somewhere I could only dream of, and I believe that with everything I have. We are ~still~ so early. AI is reshaping our world faster than any force in history – and the systems humanity relies on, the trust that holds societies together, the shared understanding that makes progress possible, all of it is being stress-tested in real time. The work of building that human layer has never mattered more. We're less than 1% of the way there! The AI Collective has always been strongest as a team of teams – and this is exactly that. All of us going further in service of this mission. As for me – I'm leaning into the next phase of building. More details soon! 👷 To every chapter lead, every volunteer, every member who showed up before this had momentum: you are the mission. Thank you! Onwards and upwards! 🚀

Boon for AI community but a loss for the US. Perhaps the government was right in deeming Anthropic a security risk Claude Code's source code appears to have leaked: here's what we know venturebeat.com/technology/cla… via @VentureBeat

This weekend I walked past "Stop the AI Arms Race" protests outside @AnthropicAI's office in SF. That same week, Anthropic published the largest qualitative AI study ever – 81,000 people across 159 countries sharing what they actually want from this technology. Together, they reveal something critical about where we are. 81% of respondents said AI had already taken a step toward their vision. A healthcare worker with more patience because documentation is off their plate. A lawyer in India who beat a lifelong math phobia. A parent in Mexico who finally picks up their kids on time. Anthropic is a friend of @AICollectiveCo – we've partnered with them and I deeply respect the team. This is great work! And we need to go further. The protests outside their office that same week tell you why. Here's what an AI-conducted survey can't capture: two people in the same room – one who just lost their job to automation, one who just 10x'd their productivity – looking each other in the eye and trying to make sense of it together. The tension. The stories that come out when you can't just click "end call." The way disagreements resolve when you're across from a real person. We've spent three years building The AI Collective – 200,000+ members, 150+ chapters, 1,000+ events. The one thing I keep seeing: when you get humans in a room to talk about AI, their thinking actually changes. Every single time. The nuance. The stories behind the opinions. How disagreements get resolved when different viewpoints collide in the same physical space. That's the data the world needs right now. And it needs to come from a nonpartisan source. No frontier model company, no matter how well-intentioned, can run these conversations and have them land the same way. These companies have skin in the game and the public knows it. This June, we're launching Humans in AI Week 🌍 The largest coordinated conversation about AI ever organized. June 1–8. 200+ cities. 50+ countries. One week. One question: where are we going with AI, and who gets a say? Together, we'll record, transcribe, anonymize, and synthesize every conversation. Thousands of discussions across dozens of countries → one report that captures what humanity actually thinks, with all the complexity and disagreement intact. That report goes to policymakers, industry leaders, and the public at large. I believe this is the purest expression of what The AI Collective was built to do. Small meetups after ChatGPT launched → the largest AI community in the world → and now the infrastructure to get humanity back in the room, simultaneously, everywhere, before the window closes. No corporation can do this. No government can do this. Only a community can! 🤝 Anthropic showed us what 81,000 individuals want from AI. Humans in AI Week will show us what happens when those perspectives collide – in person, everywhere, all at once.

@mlbelites_ America (and the Americas) could use more of this. WBC was a celebration of culture and what brings us together. Bryce shows us what it meant to rise to the occasion during and after the game.

I have so much respect for Bryce Harper. This is something you rarely see in baseball. After a crushing loss in the WBC final, Harper went out of his way to congratulate the players of Venezuela. One of a kind player 💯
