@Peston Hunt wants Truss to stay as cover. A new leader would have a mandate for their own policies. Truss and most of the cabinet are Hunt's prisoners and have to support whatever he wants. MPs trapped too by fear of an election. Total power without any democratic process.

So Liz Truss only took questions from the Tory press, & then failed to answer any of the hard questions they asked. She then walked out. No questions allowed from press thought to be critical. No apology, & cynically threw Kwarteng under the bus. No more reassured than before.

Lovely phone call from my beautiful Number One Granddaughter at uni this morning. Wondered how I was & just wanting a chat. She's popping home next weekend for a couple of days & keen to meet "if only for a few minutes". A sobering sense of being mourned whilst I'm still here.

The test results are all in now. The consultant has confirmed that my illness is indeed serious. A "don't book your holidays" job. 🤣🤣. This is a nuisance but I dealt with all care could throw my way so I'll deal with this. I'd hate to miss Mr MacAlister produce his joke report!

So, I have a telephone consultation with the consultant on Friday, just inside my 14 day limit. We've seen the test results & he should be able to diagnose formally then. I am truly not anxious - what will be will be. Just means refocusing priorities. 🙏
