Arsenal ST holder and a massive soul head but I'd swap the lot for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. Former Daily Mirror sport staffer.

What’s a mafia movie not The Godfather or Goodfellas that everyone should watch?

✍️ "It has been a strange journey for Arsenal supporters to go from fans of a venerable old club to a bunch of insufferable pearl-clutchers," writes George Chesterton. Read why George, as a lapsed Arsenal supporter, finds Arsenal fans insufferable ⤵️ telegraph.co.uk/football/2026/…

I’ve been having dental problems for a long time, mainly due to my apprehension about going to a dentist over the years. I need a lot of work done, so about 6 months ago I booked to come abroad and get all the work done. Unfortunately I booked these two weeks to be away, and am going to miss the final tomorrow. I’m gutted, but it’s for the best in the long run. I’ve kept it quiet, because it’s a bit embarrassing to be honest. Come on you Gunners. 🔴⚪️❤️

@Hillsygooner Look how far we have come to be spoken about like this. The weak, lily-livered bottle jobs that went to places like Chelsea and City to get walloped. Bring it on, and bollocks to ‘em

@SimonLester2468 @golfweek When Trump turned up at the start, you knew it was going to turn out badly. And Trump-loving America is all about who can shout the loudest. Shame Ewen won.t be calling the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor as that might make him love the game again. Will be sadly missed.

@golfweek Always thought Ewan was fantastic in the commentary booth. His comments on the behaviour of the home crowd are spot on. It was predicted before the event and sadly played out in exactly that manner. He’ll be sadly missed, happy retirement.

@GoonerGirl1969 @SameOldAFC Not forgetting the 3-0 walloping the last time we played them in a League Cup final and the similar humbling in the league three days later - with Arteta sitting behind Pep!

It's making me nervous all of a sudden all this praise on our players just before a massive game on Sunday no good, no good at all. Much prefer them to say we're bottlers or whatever they say about us. I was there for the Luton & Birmingham finals I can't go through that again 🤦🏻‍♀️

‘Max stretches headroom’…. like it, Henry!
Henry Winter@henrywinter

You can question the quality of some of Arsenal’s football. But you cannot question their character. Still some way to go to the finishing line but Arsenal don’t look like slowing up. When Manchester City applied pressure in the title race, Arsenal responded. They found a way to win. They fought hard. Gabriel and Rice particularly immense. Arsenal are battlers, not the “bottlers” as their critics derisively depicted them. They're resilient. You can question Arteta’s use of set-pieces (24 of 61 goals in PL), the unseemly wrestling and occasional caution. But you also have to admire that in a crunch moment Arsenal’s manager sent on a 16-year-old ball-player with 28 minutes’ PL experience to turn the game against an obdurate Everton. Dowman delivered. Max stretches headroom at the top for Arsenal. Hard to dislike a team with a talent like Dowman. He brings more adventure. The clamour now will be for him to play more. Dowmania. And just wait for the inevitable World Cup speculation, media frenzy, Theo revisited, but don't forget the group stage clashes with GCSEs. Let's not put too much pressure and expectation on Dowman (although he sounds like he can handle it and has good people around him, including Arteta). Arteta also deserves credit for the way he has evolved this side. He’s bought/chosen well (Raya, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Rice, Zubimendi, Gyokeres etc), loaned in well (Hincapie) while Hale End plays its part (Saka, MLS, Dowman). If they keep holding their nerve, Arsenal will deserve this first title since the Invincibles. They don’t quicken the pulse like some past champions but the Indestructibles absolutely deserve more respect than they receive. #AFC
