@Conorwhelanire @Betgolfworld I was at Portmarnock for the Irish Open in 2003, it pished all day Sunday making it a real test. I’m sure they’ll have it up to scratch for hosting the Open

@PaulCurran82 @Betgolfworld I’d worry about Portmarnock in those conditions. Still shocked that only 10 under won it. Pin positions probably saved it. Magnificent course. First time at The Open. Wednesday and Thursday were fantastic for myself and my 2 boys

@Betgolfworld Agree it’s a proper test. Portrush can be brutal too but maybe Birkdale doesn’t rely as much on benign conditions to make it difficult to play. Hopefully Portmarnock gets the green light, it’s a great track and would make a fitting host

@PaulCurran82 Maybe not aesthetically but everything else. Just far more of a test. There are no easy shots. It's just been sublime

Jason Ferguson says snooker is 'maybe the biggest sport to not be at the Olympics'. I wouldn't even say maybe. The sport should be at the Games. I give you one surefire guarantee if snooker did make it to the Olympics too. The world would fall in love with the old table game.

Hi, anyone from Ireland here who can help me out? There's a young player from Galway competing in the EBSA U21 this year called Lorcán Ó Curraoin. I can find him online as Lorcan, but also as Lorcain O'Curraoin. Is Lorcain a conventional way to respell Lorcán?
