@JMGray80 @Thompson1Garry I watched every home game that season as a young boy. My best ever memories .. Andy was just amazing, his heading ability as good as I ever saw. Dixie & Brian alongside him. Dixie only 19 at the time & just think how physical it was for them. They were fearless 🙏⚽️😃👍

@AvfcArchive Dennis was a key signing & quickly became the Gaffers fav & made Captain. His driving box to box runs into final 3rd very memorable. 81&82 seasons proved the Gaffer right from day 1. UTV ⚽️👍

@StanCollymore “ Very Powerful” Proud of my Irish parents, arrived in England in 1942&47, met in B’ham. My Dad had never been in a city and had 1 Shilling in his pocket when he arrived in the Bull Ring. He socialised with all creeds & races and had friends and work mates from every one. ☘️😃👍

On this day 48 years ago John Dixie Deehan scored on his home debut into the Holte end for Villa in a 5-1 thrashing of Sheffield Utd, 3 months after his 18th B’day. 2 years prior to that he was standing on the Holte end as season ticket holder dreaming of such a feat! UTV. ⚽️❤️

Absolutely Frankie , he’s got that touch of class at the back you don’t see that often . If he had a little more pace he’d be up there with the best. Reads the game like a Paul McGrath or Paul Madeley for the older readers 🤣⚽️👍

Said it after the first-half yesterday, Pau Torres was class. Won everything & played passes like an accomplished Barca-style CDM. He’s doing really well at Villa & shown a strong mentality in that he didn’t allow tough days at Newcastle & Liverpool to affect him. #avfc #utv
