Of all of the work that I put into data analysis, this is my favorite piece of the year, every year. I humbly present my full analysis of the 2026 NCAA Tournament. I am making one pick that I know is a terrible idea. It troubles me (and it's not what you're thinking). We'll see.

Guess who has two thumbs and picked St. Johns, Tennessee, and Iowa to win today? THIS GUY. (I also picked UCLA)

Youu know what thought has NEVER crossed my mind? "I wonder if UofM fans will be rooting for MSU today?" But in the rare situation where UofM is actually good, their fans are OBSESSED with whether MSU fans cheer for them or not. This sad need for validation is hillarious.

@MichiganOwnsOH @cpstalions Michigan: Rooting in stupidity, arrogance, and false narratives. MSU fans have a lot of feelings about Michigan. Jealousy is not one of them. That is probably the one thing that burns up the Wolverines the most.

Tom Izzo is a combined 57-14 over the past two seasons with back-to-back trips to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament.

A quick "shuffle" on the perimeter with no one around should not be traveling. Come on, just let that one go.

I believe some of these were vacated at Syracuse, but Tom Izzo just tied Jim Boeheim with 61 total NCAA Tournament wins. Only Mike Krzyewski (101), and Roy Williams (79) have more.

MSU really needs to tighten up and soon. Louisville is bound to have another run here sooner or later.

Interesting first half for MSU. The Spartans are losing both the turnover and offensive rebounding battle but MSU is shooting much better than the Cards. We will see if those trends continue in the second stanza.

@d6P90o Oh.... now that's a fun idea! I think that math isn't too hard, because all that needs to happen is to go 0-32 on the first round. I will look into it!

@PaulFanson getting them all right is fun and all, but fans should know the real odds of the winless bracket. next year?

I studied this question in detail about five years ago. But, when I looked at the data again this week with fresh eyes, the final pieces fell into place. I went all the way down the rabbit hole on this one, and I think that I found the bottom.

I just love the first two days of the tournament. I literally spend the last two days in my basement with family watching hoops, drinking beers, making cocktails, and smoking meats on the grill. (That last part actually took place outside.)

Here is a visual overview of the odds for the R32 NCAAT games showing the historical odds for each seed pair, the Vegas odds from the spread, and the odds from Kenpom. UVA, Nebraska, and KU all might be in trouble. UConn and ISU are vulnerable No. 2s and Vegas likes MSU.

I hit up Queen City Vintage in Buffalo today. If you don’t know, everywhere I go to cover games for @Spartans_Illo I collect a vintage shirt from a local sports team. I couldn’t decide today and got two. Which one should I wear tomorrow to photograph MSU’s game??

Full disclosure, I believe that in 90% of cases, defending is a better strategy than fouling. (Don't at me). But at the end of the Santa Clara/UK game, Santa Clara should have fouled before UK got to midcourt
