@scott_spitters What?!? Why?!? Why not just lower ticket prices?

@TheOGMaurice @Sportsnet @hockeyville I’m not crying, you nitwit. I’m stating the obvious….Tumbler Ridge just had >1% of its population murdered or injured by a deranged shooter. Winning this would have helped assuage a tiny bit of the town’s immeasurable grief. The NHL could’ve made an exception and had 2 winners.

@PaulGCarter @Sportsnet @hockeyville You don’t know how this works. Tabers arena literally blew up, they wouldn’t have the funds needed to rebuild anytime soon. Tumbler ridge has a functional arena. It’s also a vote so keep crying about it.

Congratulations to Taber, Alberta, winner of Kraft Hockeyville 2026! 🥳

Tolopilo is a terrible goalie. 6 goals against on 21 shots. Disgusting. #Canucks

@BradWestPoCo Brad, please disclose the name of the municipal councillor, so we can collectively work on removing that individual from his/her position ASAP. It is completely unacceptable that anybody at any level of government does not understand basic financial concepts.

I had a convo today (with a municipal councillor, no less) where BC’s 5th consecutive credit downgrade was brushed off as a nothing burger, just the opinion of financial firms.
That misses the point, because this isn’t about who’s saying it. It’s about what it means.
But it did get me thinking that we need to be clear about the actual impact for real people.
In simple terms: lenders see our province as higher risk, so we pay more interest to borrow.
And when interest costs go up, more of your tax dollars go to servicing debt…
and less goes to the things people actually rely on: healthcare, schools, infrastructure, childcare, public safety, etc
Every dollar spent on interest is a dollar not spent on you. That’s not politics…that’s called math.
And my point to my colleague was simple: if you care about strong public services, and especially if you want to see more of them as I do, this should matter to you most.

@BenRabidoux Articles like this are ridiculously one-sided: “But the developer still expects buyers to pay the original agreed-upon price…” Does CTV understand what a contract is? “But the restaurant still expects the diner to pay the price for his meal as stated on the menu…” 🤦
English

OSFI finally tightening up on bullshit blanket appraisals and now we get the sob stories of the buyers who have to deal with actual appraisals.
This is a market cycle. People will lose money.
Let the market clear

@canucksalumni Sadly, Bandura never played a regular season game with Vancouver. His assist against the Rockies though while playing for the Rangers on December 31, 1980 is the stuff of legends!

@PaulGCarter @SatiarShah Itll be even worse when 2 far better teams leapfrog them in the lottery
