In management, a bad hire doesn't just give you zero productivity.. they give you *negative* productivity by dragging the rest of the team down to fix their mess. Agentic AI is no different. If you deploy "underperforming" agents, you aren't just losing time; you're creating a high-stakes cleanup job for your best people. I say, keep it cautious- most soild MVP, and iterate carefully.

Request to all my mutuals & followers and people who see my posts. Don't skip them if you see them. Interact in someway. If you don't have time to comment, a like or BM also helps. Feel free to ENGAGE! I am a very friendly guy. You can even DM me for tips or support. Feel free to subscribe to me as well. I give shoutout and try to promote those who subscribe!
Nikita Bier@nikitabier

We're rolling out a small tweak to boost visibility of your posts to your mutuals (people who you follow back). We noticed this data was missing from the algo and it made your friends appear less in your replies. This resulted in the reply section feeling more like a battleground with people you don't recognize. This should also help clusters form around interests more easily, which many people have asked for.

@iruletheworldmo Agreed - count him out at your peril.. this type of challenge is something he’s built for. Looking forward to seeing just how close Grok 5 gets to the big two.

grok 5 is coming much sooner than i’d thought and it’s a strong competitor to fable 5. it won’t quite be as strong as gpt 6 but it may become your daily drive because it’s so cheap. i’m surprised given how much compute elon has given dario, but i underestimated just how much compute he has, and how much dario has had to give up tldr: grok 5 very soon and the first real competitor outside of anthropic and open ai. extra tldr: grok is cooking. xai are back in the race. final tldr: don’t count out elon folks.

@xlr8harder Haha.. yep, if it has nothing at all- that’s a clear violation. They risk the email security scanning firms blacklisting the source if they repeat at scale and get spam blocked etc. Seen it happen before.

Because I signed up for an xAI API key, I get product promotional material emailed to me with no unsubscribe link, in apparent violation of the CAN-SPAM act. Which is about what you'd expect from xAI.

@quxiaoyin One of the best sayings: “It’s not the model, it’s the harness”

Xiaoyin Qu@quxiaoyin·
From our experience, a well-designed harness with cheap models like GLM 5.2 or Deepseek V4 pro for selected use cases can significantly outperform Fable. Also, a well-optimized harness can significantly reduce tokens performing the same task with the same model. Harness design impacts performance, costs, and time to outcome.
Gavin Baker@GavinSBaker

The mega bull case for AI infrastructure would be *if* market share shifted away from certain frontier labs with 90%+ inference margins toward cheaper models, whether open-source or closed. It would increase the ROI on AI spend for end customers by increasing intelligence per dollar, which would drive incremental token demand. Margin dollars would effectively get redistributed from the frontier labs to AI infrastructure providers. The infra winners would be those with the lowest per token cost and the winners at the model layer would be those with the highest token efficiency. There are many reasons Jensen is so focused on open source, but this is likely the most important one as I think he is probably less worried about a monopsony these days. Lower margin % at the model layer = more margin $ at the infra layer all else equal. With SpaceX and Meta being vertically integrated and possessing the #3 and #4 models respectively it is more possible than ever. Note that Grok 4.5 is ahead of Fable for some useful tasks at a much lower cost, so ranking them #3 is conservative. This is not happening yet. Cheap, mostly open source tokens are likely the majority of volume today but the majority of economic value is still accruing to the most intelligent models. Might change though. We will see.

@alightinastorm I think the real golden age will be where a the level of intelligence of models like what we have in the mid range (27b-35b etc) but smaller and fit on hardware that most engineers have. When they fit on 8-16GB of VRAM, that will be the big unleash, imo.

openai just made one thing obvious: most people do not want a smarter model. they want the model to stop breaking their workflow. that is the real product now - not chat, not agents, not “magic.” control, export, permissions, cleanup. that is where the next wave of ai tools will win.

@kristalksai It's more like the 'following' tab in a way. So you at least get more of a mix, or just hit the other tabs if you want a change etc. I like it.
