In my opinion, the fact that the government has the power to close down the whole economy without the publics consent shows how far we are from a free, capitalist economy.

Restrictions on our freedoms are beaten into us from a young age. From having to wear school clothes, to pointless classes. The desire for freedom is suppressed from a young age - which is why we see people so happy to give it up today.

How can anyone truly say we live in a capitalist society when government has the ability to shut down stores whenever it likes?

Herd mentality is stronger than ever, with a predominant lack of critical thinking in society today. There’s millions of sheep looking to each other for guidance rather than asking the important questions.

The majority of people don’t trust in the science. They trust politicians and pop culture.

Socialists claim many things as human rights - Education, housing, even a basic income. However, what isn’t a right, is to force someone to provide those things.

Socialism in a nutshell: “I want this, so you must provide for me.” No, that’s not how the world works. You need to be independent human beings.

It’s quite frightening how much power government has. Look at how easily it has been able to change our lives. My fear is that this has set the foundations for someone with more sinister intentions.

When government has the power to fundamentally change the lives of its citizens, it naturally corrupts those in charge. Humans are not angels. There is no socialist paradise where people work tirelessly for everyone else’s benefit.

Climate change is seen as a result of too much human interference in nature. The same goes with poverty and human interference with the free market and governments willingness to prevent competition, and mutual cooperation between individuals.

The idea that government intervention helps promote competition can simply be dispelled by asking anyone to start their own business. The amount of pointless hoops you need to jump through is enough to deter even the most determined of entrepreneurs.

Imagine if the US really implements a COVID passport scheme. You’d need identification to go buy a Big Mac, but you are free to vote with little or no ID verification.

Socialism isn’t about helping the poor or empathy for them. It’s all about hating the rich and making sure people cannot get ahead.

@CLANGGANG1 The worst thing is that millions of people don’t even recognise it - let alone care.

The world has shifted towards protection at the cost of Liberty. Vaccine passports Soda tax Occupational licenses And thousands of other mandates When we give up our freedoms for safety, we will end up with neither.

When government has the power to force you to do something against your will, it has too much power.
