THE WADS (Mick Wadsworth) comes to my house (where he used to stay with me!) the morning of Carlisle United v Swindon Town 1st Feb 2025. Amongst other stories: Paul Murray. David Wilkes knocks on MANAGER door 1993: "Paul wants to meet you boss". 16 year old Paul (born in Carlisle hospital) stares at Mick, who stares back "Put me in the team, THIS season, Boss". Eventually the day almost comes. Paul on the bench. Fiddling with his shin pads. Boss looks at him and 60 mins in says "Paul, get ready". Paul runs the line comes back to take his trackie off - NO SHIRT! "I left it in the changing-room" "GO GET IT!!" Paul returns, itching to get on. 70 mins, 80 mins, 90 mins...Paul turns to Boss " Why didn't you..." "NEXT TIME MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR F'INNG SHIRT ON". Paul plays for Carlisle United.
