this is such a useful (small, but instructive) insight into white discourse around going/staying. 'from this place/but not of this place'. not enough is written about this, especially given its outsized impact on the psychosis of what is considered 'good' in SA.

@PaulRouxFP You need to factor in ownership of people's homes and businesses plus the retirement savings to SA in the asset allocartion calc. Once you do this, most SAcans are hopelessly overweight SA, and need to essentially take all their available discretionary cash offshore.

How Are We Playing It? Up to about a year ago, our global equity allocation was roughly 85% in the US. We’ve reduced that to about 65%. The ex-America allocation is mostly in Asia. Most of our clients are invested in our Unconstrained Fund - a global full-equity fund.
