Have been too shattered to write this but for the sake of clarity — I have also been laid off by the Post. I was one of the few journalists still working inside Russia. My last story went on the front page and featured rare testimonies from wounded soldiers criticizing the war.

I've been laid off after 6 years as a copy editor at The Washington Post, where almost daily I edited some of our most harrowing foreign news coverage, incl. hundreds of stories on wars in Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan + elsewhere. I've also been proud to serve as @PostGuild secretary✊

In the expansion of the Post’s foreign coverage under @jeffbezos, I was hired as an editor and I’ve worked with nearly all of their foreign correspondents in my job to help their work shine. It would be a waste to scrap this brilliant network, one of the few left. #SaveThePost
