The banners for Blessed Carlo Acutis & Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati have been unveiled at St. Peter's Basilica today. Both men will be canonised on Sunday, 7th September by Pope Leo.

Five years ago today, I celebrated Mass in thanksgiving for my priestly ordination, in my home parish. I have lots of wonderful memories of that day; none more so than this one. @RCStFrancisPG

It is with great sadness that we have to advise of the death of Mr Frank Cassidy, Chancellor of the Diocese of Motherwell from 1997 to 2014, who passed away this morning. We give our sincere condolences to Frank's family on this sad occasion. Requiescat in pace.

The Holy Family Church, the only Catholic church in Gaza, was struck by an Israeli shell on Thursday morning, resulting in several injuries, including the parish priest, Father Gabriel Romanelli. Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, told Vatican News that four people were seriously wounded, of whom two are facing life-threatening injuries. "We must first understand what happened, what must be done to protect our people, seek to ensure that these things do not happen again, and then see what we should do," said Patriarch Pizzaballa.
