The training is designed to support adults with unmet literacy needs in their community, and signpost them towards services to improve their reading, writing, maths, and digital skills.

Today Pavee Point's Education Programme, in partnership with @nalaireland, deliver Day two of NALA 'Literacy Champion' training with the Primary Health Care and CE workers of Clondalkin Travellers Development Group.

The work of eight craftspeople is featured at the exhibition, with practices connected to Irish dance, sport, music and storytelling. The exhibition launched last week in Dublin Castle, one the opening events of Ireland’s EU Presidency, and as part of #AugustCraftMonth2026.

Pongers made by James Collin are part of the Culture in Our Hands (Ceardaíocht na hÉireann) exhibition opening this morning at the RDS Library.

This discussion follows the launch of a new report by the @IPRT: 'Rethinking Remand: An assessment of pre‑trial detention in Ireland'. The report points to the overuse of remand detention in Irish prisons, with one in five people in prison are awaiting trial or sentencing.

This morning, our Primary Health Care team welcomed Anne Costello, of the Traveller Justice Initiative, to Pavee Point to lead an information session and discussion for Primary Health Care workers and trainees.
