The deeper concern is that when sport is driven primarily by valuation growth, ROI, and market-cap thinking, winning can become a means to profit rather than the core purpose. In such an environment, players risk being treated like investments to be measured and discarded rather than people to be developed. Sport thrives on passion, uncertainty & resilience when commercial extraction overtakes sporting values the game may remain profitable but lose part of its SOUL.

Heated argument between Ishan Kishan and Kavya Maran’s father after SRH lost to RR in the Eliminator. As per sources, Kavya Maran was not happy with Ishan after he hit 6, 6, 4 against Jofra Archer and then got out. She wanted him to finish the match, but he couldn’t. There was reportedly a heated debate between them in the dressing room for 35 minutes, and according to a person present there, Muttiah Muralitharan had to step in to calm things down.🤯 As I said earlier, SRH players and owners — all of them are toxic. Hope they all get banned from the IPL and BCCI brings back the old team, Deccan Chargers.👊

Another perspective- The panic around FII selling is often exaggerated. When foreign investors sell their shares, the money is not disappearing, it is simply changing hands. Domestic institutions and retail investors are buying these same quality companies, often at better prices. A company’s long-term success depends on its profits, management, and business performance, not on whether its shareholders are foreign or domestic. As ownership shifts from short-term foreign investors to long-term domestic investors, the market can become more stable and resilient. Rather than being a crisis, this trend reflects the growing strength and maturity of India’s financial system.

$24.2 billion has left Indian equities. Yet earnings are growing, SIPs are hitting records and India remains one of the fastest-growing major economies. Strange, isn't it? What do you think on this?

Jamshedpur had street lights before half of London. Tata Steel turns 117 this year. The town still works. Indian factory towns usually decay when the founder leaves. This one didn't. The real achievement was never the steel.

A lovely film made by Raju Hirani on the occasion of 100 years of Bajaj group, a business family I respect immensely. What was amazing to me was that the characters enacted by the Bajaj family members are all done by AI!!

Just because an executive in advertising agency cannot win elections on her own doesn't mean she can strategise and set narrative for an established party. Your thinking is very simplistic. A person who is capable of advising Mukesh Ambani need not possess the ability to become a billionaire.

@dmuthuk Vajpayee was NOT vote puller. Advani was. It was Advani's Ram Jamnbhumi yatra that made BJP a political force Besides, they did not have Amit Shah. And journalists or 'PK types' can write but can win their own seat or can't make anyone win so read them for entertainment if u must

@WealthEnrich 5 years is nothing in Equity Markets if one wishes to compound long term story. There should be a category award by Companies or SEBI for retail shareholders holding shares longest. Is possible to extract the data in digital age. May motivate many for long term holding.

In India we have over 9 crore demat accounts, but less than 1% of them hold stocks for 5+ years. Everyone talks compounding but sadly very few practice it. We gotta understand that wealth is not about finding the next multibagger, it’s about holding the current one long enough!

Have been taking international vacations for a long time. In the recent years, our people, especially traveling in groups are not behaving appropriately. Unreasonable demands and petty fights in air travel is becoming common. The way we sit, eat and engage in loud conversations at airports makes other people very uncomfortable. I don't see a need to say 'Jai Hind' loudly as a group in foreign locations. Less said is better about how we behave in serving ourselves food in Buffet. It's not that only Prime Minister or Foreign Minister or sportsman or any other celebrity represents India. Every Indian who travel overseas represents India. India started gaining lot of attention and respect from the time of Y2K issue, when foreigners were impressed with talent and dedication of our youngsters. As tourists, now we are now ruining country's image. Foreign tourist spots are not appropriate places to show our patriotism, be loud, create discomfort for tourists from every other country. In museums, if 'don't touch' is mentioned, you can be sure of us touching. Wherever it is mentioned as 'no video', all our mobile phones would be on video mode. Our behaviour is responsible for how other countries perceive us.

Climate change is becoming a major productivity challenge for Indian businesses. Heatwaves, flooding & extreme weather are reducing worker productivity and disrupting supply chains, especially in sectors like construction, transport, and manufacturing that rely heavily on outdoor labour and are labour intensive. Companies must invest in climate adaptation measures such as cooling systems, safer workplaces, and resilient logistics. The informal workers remain highly vulnerable & protecting workers from climate risks is now essential for India’s economic growth & corporate performance.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s bat swing has been outstanding. What’s even more remarkable is how beautifully he clears his front foot to create room for balls aimed at his legs. This freedom allows him to play the way he does. That innings was nothing short of spectacular!

KYC-KYC and KYC- India’s KYC system faces challenges such as repeated document submissions, lack of interoperability, and unclear liability rules among financial institutions. These issues create delays, increase costs, and reduce customer convenience despite the presence of digital infrastructure. A fully implemented portable KYC system would enable seamless onboarding, reduce duplication, and improve efficiency for both investors and institutions. Clear regulations & standardized data sharing would strengthen trust, lower compliance costs, and support the growth of India’s digital financial ecosystem. @SEBI_India @Cersai_India

Intense Summer and heatwaves- India is experiencing severe heatwaves, especially in the north, west and central regions, with temperatures crossing 42–44°C. Rising humidity and the impact of Super El Niño are making summers harsher, turning heat into a major health, environmental and economic concern. Extreme heat is reducing productivity, affecting workers, increasing health risks and putting pressure on cities and infrastructure. Much desired yet poor urban planning, lack of green cover and rapid urbanisation are worsening the situation. In short term, provision to provide drinking water stations, cooling shelters, medical support & awareness campaigns to help people stay safe during heatwaves should be there. Arrangements such as water bowls, shaded spaces & rescue support for stray animals and birds are also important during extreme summers. In long term, to tackle this, need is for stronger heat action plans, better public awareness & climate-friendly urban development. Measures like increasing tree cover, improving building design, rooftop insulations & better cooling systems can help reduce the long-term impact of heatwaves. In both, Short term and Long term, public participation with mobilisation of NGOs etc will be of immense help.

Much needed. Cricket in Bihar has changed significantly in recent years. After years of administrative disputes, lack of infrastructure, and exclusion from major BCCI tournaments following the creation of Jharkhand, Bihar regained full BCCI membership in 2018. Since then, efforts have been made to organize cricket at the grassroots level and provide better opportunities to players. Bihar’s greatest strength is its talent. Players like Ishan Kishan, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Akash Deep, Mukesh Kumar, Sakib Hussain, and Mohammad Izhar have shown that players from small towns and humble backgrounds can succeed at the national and IPL level. Their success has inspired many young cricketers across the state. Despite progress, challenges such as limited infrastructure, lack of modern academies, and administrative issues still remain. However, new cricket grounds, training camps, and growing investment in sports infrastructure are creating hope for the future. With its huge youth population and passion for cricket, Bihar has the potential to become a major cricketing hub in India. If proper facilities and support systems are developed, the state could produce many more national and international stars and perhaps even its own IPL team in not too distant time.

Oil shaped geopolitics in the last century and still shaping but water may shape this century in time to come. India’s per capita water availability has fallen from 5,000 cubic metres in 1951 to nearly 1,400 today officially “water stressed.” Yet every new industrial corridor, steel plant, ethanol target and urban expansion assumes water is simply available. Industrial expansion should not assume unlimited supply. The blind spot isn’t growth — it’s planning growth without hydrology. We plan factories, not aquifers. Growth without water budgeting is a crisis deferred, not development secured.

The Quad is an informal grouping of India, the United States, Japan, and Australia committed to a Free and Open Indo-Pacific. It began as a coordination mechanism during the 2004 tsunami relief efforts and was revived in 2017. Today, the foreign ministers of the four countries have met in New Delhi. The Quad focuses on health security, climate change, critical technologies, cybersecurity, infrastructure, HADR (Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief), and counter-terrorism cooperation. So far, it has held multiple foreign ministers’ meetings and five Leaders’ Summits, launching initiatives like the Vaccine Partnership, Climate Package, Satellite Data Portal, Open RAN, and HADR efforts. India is playing a leading role in the Quad, especially in driving the HADR partnership. The group is important for strengthening a rules-based international order, maritime security, and regional stability.
