Our talented @NeurosurgeryNM resident @Pavlostex has published @TheJNS spine a meta-analysis that compares the effectiveness of anterior odontoid screw and posterior C1/2 fusion for type 2 dens fractures. The study concludes that posterior C1/2 fusion is associated to lower reoperation rates and higher fusion rates, especially in patients over the age of 60.
