Three days before the planned June 26 protests, two Hamas social media accounts posted the same image: a gallows, a noose, and the caption ‘SOON.’ To the outside world — @AlJazeera , @CNN — Hamas projects victimhood and resistance. To Gazans, it broadcasts power, authority, and the will to turn its weapons on local ‘traitors.’ Three @JusoorNews correspondents in Gaza were kidnapped and tortured by Hamas last summer after an Al-Jazeera journalist tipped off their location.
