I need to be honest with you. I don't have all the answers about healthcare in Texas. But I know this: When a critical care nurse called me, upset, terror in her voice during the pandemic, terrified because her hospital wouldn't provide proper masks, I showed up. I brought what she needed. Dropped them off at her front door. Not because I had a solution to the whole system. Because she asked for help and I could help. That's the difference I want to make as Lieutenant Governor. I can't promise to fix everything. But I can promise to SHOW UP. I can promise to LISTEN. And I can promise to bring clinical practicing bedside nurses, nurse educators, everyone affected by healthcare - to the table when decisions are made. Not as a formality. As partners. Because here's what I've learned: The people doing the work know what's wrong better than I ever will. My job isn't to have all the answers. My job is to create the space where we the people, the RIGHT people can find the answers together. If that sounds like leadership you need, I'm asking for your vote. I don’t think people realize how much healthcare costs are driving big companies to fire and not hire. It costs them $30k per family, per year for premiums and care. Most of that goes to the massive, vertically integrated insurance companies that send weekly bills that no one reviews in details. And it doesn’t include the company overhead to deal with it all. It’s usually the 2nd largest expense after payroll. Which is insane It’s far easier to blame AI than it is to blame Healthcare costs. Want to increase jobs, wages and improve affordability for every American ? Break up the biggest insurance companies. Make divest non insurance companies. They don’t need thousands of subsidiaries. That’s how they game and abuse the system and increase costs for all of us. Call your senator and tell them to support the BreakUp Big Medicine Bill by @HawleyMO and @SenWarren.

@tom_peters An 11-year-old’s future depends on the pattern we seed: AI can amplify extraction or shared prosperity. Start with dignity, and scale the pattern. A new way of living together could be the outcome. We might like it.

This is your reminder that all those people who had to switch to lower premium, higher deductible plans, will now be paying full retail price on their brand and specialty drugs for LONGER , because their deductibles went up , costing them thousands of dollars a year more. In aggregate patients may be paying billions of dollars MORE ! To make matters worse, for your ACA PLANS , the rebates from those deductible buys, are going to the biggest PBMs, owned by the insurance companies. FOR YOUR COMPANY'S plan, if your deductible went up, and it probably did ,the in deductible rebates are going right to your Company's and the PBM's BANK ACCOUNT !!! The bigger your deductible, the sicker you are, the more that goes to your CEO'S balance sheet. It's time to change healthcare These healthcare companies are TOO BIG TO CARE

We talk a lot about healing “us vs them,” but almost never about the inner work that has to come first. It is hard to be a steady presence in a divided world if you have never learned how to offer real love to yourself.
