International students brought $43.8 BILLION into the U.S. economy in one year and supported 378,000+ American jobs. And here’s the part many miss: roughly 63% do not remain in the U.S. long term. We educate them, benefit from their spending, then many take their skills elsewhere. For the senator from Missouri who seems clueless on basic economics: International students likely generate around $950 million to $1 billion+ annually in Missouri economic activity based on enrollment and national averages. That is in the neighborhood of a major Missouri state budget category, including public higher education support. America is one of the few countries lucky enough to have talented people pay us to study here. Only fools treat that like a problem.

I was in Costco a couple weeks ago and there was a young girl, probably 9, and she was visibly upset. Her dad looked at her and said “Stop fucking crying. I’ve had it with the fucking crying! Why are you always fucking crying?” as if she, and her emotions, were the biggest inconvenience of his life. I haven’t stopped thinking about her since. I told my husband after the fact and he said: “You set the standard. If you talk to your daughter that way, don’t be surprised when her husband (or partner) does to.” Girl dads drop any other words of wisdom✍🏼

The 1hour boo-boo I did a (near)1 hour live-stream to myself. So, basically, I streamed on my youtube account, that is private. I only realised after blabbering for over 40minutes that I wasn't getting any comments. 🤬🥵🤦‍♂️

Just found out that on 9/11, when the United States shut its airspace, 38 planes got diverted to a tiny town in Atlantic Canada called Gander, Newfoundland. The town’s population at the time was around 10,000 people. Overnight, 6,700 strangers arrived. The population nearly doubled in a few hours. Apparently the town just opened up. Schools, churches, and community halls were turned into sleeping areas. Bus drivers who had been on strike came off the picket lines to shuttle passengers. Pharmacies filled prescriptions for free. The ice rink at the community centre became a giant fridge because there was so much donated food. People invited strangers into their homes for showers, meals, and a bed. The passengers were only there for four days. Twenty-five years later, many of them are still in touch with their Newfoundland hosts. One flight raised money for a scholarship fund for kids in Gander. It started at 15,000 US dollars and has since paid out over a million dollars to local students. A musical was made about it called Come From Away. It ran on Broadway for five years. When a reporter asked one of the Newfoundland women why they did it, she said, “You don’t turn your back on people in need.”

The only acceptable reason to have kids is that you want to nurture and care for another being. That's it. That's all of the good reasons. Not because you want someone to take care of you in your old age, not because you want them to take on a certain career, to give you grandkids, to further your religion. None of that. To bring a child into this world with expectations makes it unethical to have one, it lays the foundation for emotional blackmail; as in, 'I brought you into this world and raised you, had you for this reason so give me that happiness'. No one owes you anything for the things you do out of your own will for your own sake, not even your children.

10. Most marriages that ended in divorce could have been restored with peace, harmony, and intimacy. They just didn't know how, or they took the easy way out. If divorce hadn't been an option, other solutions, less destructive solutions, would have presented themselves.

WHY NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THIS...... Some people grew up in homes where their parents fought constantly. Where they fell asleep to the sound of arguments. Where they walked into rooms and immediately felt the tension in the air. Nobody ever explained what was happening. They just felt it. All of it. Alone. As children who had no choice but to absorb everything around them.
