Marcelo, When you came to manage Leeds United, the false dawns and false starts had become the norm. The brief moments of joy were exceptional respites during the decade-and-a-half away from the top-tier of English football - 'the banter years'. The club had been unloved and uncared for by many managers and owners on the spiral down the football pyramid. That is why - when you brought a seemingly inexhaustible amount of competence and passion - it was a revolution. No one know what to expect before that first game of the season. And like before every first game of every new season, we all held our collective breath. So when Mateusz Klich stabbed home that shot against Stoke on that sunny day in August 2018 - the Elland Road roar that preceded was an exclamation of disbelief as much as joy. What followed was the best football any of us might ever see our team play in our lifetimes. What many of us would give to go back and live it all again. And how did you do it? Because you care. You care passionately about every small detail, every small moment - because you know that even the tinniest component of a football club, is part of the foundation of the whole. So you adjusted the position of electric sockets on the walls of Thorp Arch; a dirty boot print in the hall never happened again; and the players picked up rubbish for an hour, because their integrity and understanding of what the fans have to do pay to watch them, was as important to you, as their physical strength. You watched a season's worth of games for every one of our opponents, studying them meticulously until you knew every strength, every weakness, and what tactical changes they would make depending on the game state. You cared. You cared so much that your passion almost has its own gravity; it draws people in - and makes them care too. You turned a mid-table Championship squad into a mid-table Premier League side - no one else could have done that. But more than that - you turned #LUFC - one of the most hated teams in the UK - into what some pundits at the time called "everyone's second team" - by virtue of the most unbelievably exciting brand of football. Every press conference was a philosophical lecture. You lambasted modern football, football authorities, the press, agents and everything else that makes a mockery of the beauty of this game. But you always praised the fans, you always praised your players and you never, ever took credit. And while others jumped at the opportunity to lap up the applause for the fruits of your labour, you never puffed proud. Embarrassed, you even had to be goaded into lifting the Championship trophy. You have left every single manager that followed in your wake an impossible task. Your shadow lingers still. You will be loved forever in this city in West Yorkshire of which your face and words adorn murals 10ft tall. And we'll never forget how your lessons of hard work, love and passion and belief and hope, transformed our club. Even when the entire establishment tried to prise you off that pedestal they had so begrudgingly put you on - during the spy gate scandal - you simply dismantled the narrative with a tactical masterclass we will never the see the like of again. And you did it all in the most disarming way, while turning sport into art, and uplifting this community. You have personally changed the trajectory of my life, and those of countless others I know. Thank you does not feel enough for the appreciation and gratitude we all feel. But it will have to do. Vamos Bielsa, Vamos Leeds Carajo! We will never forget what you did for us! Gracias Marcelo!

Dominic Calvert-Lewin leaves the #England camp and returns to #LUFC. Barring injuries, it seems that DCL’s World Cup dream is over. But it was his outstanding form at times during this season that got him this far. A few injuries and a strong finish to the Leeds’ campaign might open the door again. But for now that door has closed. He will look back on that header as the golden chance that he had to take. He must seek redemption in a Leeds shirt and show Thomas Tuchel what he is missing - by guiding Leeds to safety with plenty of goals, to lay down a marker in the league ahead of the summer.

#LUFC pre-Sunderland press conference Farke spoke for a long time about the red card. It is his first red card in 20 years. The official reason for the red card was for entering the pitch - but he said he has done this for 20 years and also all the other managers do this every game after the final whistle as well. Said that he didn't abuse Peter Bankes - said that he didn't say one bad word against him. He said he simply asked why - when he had warned City players about time wasting 3 times during injury time and even gave a yellow card to Ait-Nori - why no extra time was added to accomodate this. Said he disagreed with a number of decisions: the straight leg tackle on James Justin, the foul on Aaronson in the build-up to the goal, the stamp on Gruev, the handball and finally the lack of added time at the end. Said that especially the added time has to be given at this level. He was also critical of Bankes - said he didn't look at him, didn't listen to him, didn't talk to him - just gave him a red card to "show the world" that he did something very wrong. Said that he believes he will be in the dugout on Tuesday night because it has to be overturned. "I was not sent the full report of the red card and I've never had one before so I can't tell you about the process of appealing. I can just say that this red card is a clear and obvious mistake and should be overturned and so I expect it to be overturned." On Ramadan he spoke about the confusion fans have about the break. In the first City game a break in play to have a team talk was a huge topic when Donnarumma went down without an injury. Felt that Leeds fans were booing because they didn't know why this was happening and perhaps linked it to what happened before. But he said that of course if people were booing Ramadan specifically then of course they need to learn (that, that is wrong). Says that there is no better place for living together with people of different religions than a football club. "My gut feeling was that our supporters didn't know what was happening, but if it was disrespectful then those people have to learn from that." The performance against Man City was excellent and a draw would have been a fair result. "We didn't allow many chances and we only conceded with 5 seconds to go in added time.. We can take even more confidence from this." Joe Rodon is available. Only question is of James Justin who was hit with a straight leg tackle and had to have stitches even though he didn't even get a free kick, but should be ok. So it is just Okafor out. "We had tight games against Sunderland on Championship level and also this season. The away game was a good game. They have already beaten nearly everyone at home so it was a good draw." "You have to prepare for key players like Granit Xhaka. It's important we control him but Sunderland have more threats than him. They are very dangerous on the counter attack so we must make sure that when we lose the ball we have to control the counters. On the other hand its not easy to create chances as they are a compact side." "The mentality of #LUFC team - to respond to adversity and to never lose our mental strength and confidence has been so impressive and its very hard to show consistency in this league but we have shown over several months really consistent performances." On the handball against Manchester City: "It's important that football be easy and as clear as possible for everyone. And with the handball rule we need more clarity.. this would be helpful for everyone involved: the players, the referees and the fans.." On Anton Stach (in the context of the aftermath of criticism from Nagelsman): "He is highly praised as one of the best signings of the Premier League. He's delivering on a top level. Shows versatility, plays in every midfield role and delivers with consistency, he's great in the air and wins many duels for us, he hardly loses the ball, he delivers goals and assists and is the creative spark, also against the ball - covered ground, high speed distance. A very, very complete player and glad we have him." On the tight turnaround: "There is not one player who is not ready to go".

A mad #LUFC away day in Birmingham. Cracking atmosphere, good banter. There’s a veneer of modern football gloss: a fire show and fireworks, a DJ at half time; but St Andrews is an old school football ground - and fair play to them when they bashed out their anthem the place was rocking. Leeds in the hat for the last 16 of the cup; and Leeds fans singing and dreaming of Wembley. For all the money, State funds, VAR, agents and every other trapping of modern football; the magic of the FA Cup is it stands as an oasis. It is the great leveller, it is the last place where fans of teams from all divisions can dream that an unlikely scrap of glory might fall their way one day. On Valentines weekend the Cup has delivered a bit of romance back into the football world.

Since 2008, #LUFC have made 78 trips to London and won 9 times, drawn 18 and lost 51. If Leeds were to win tonight it would be the first league double over Chelsea since 1991/92 title-winning season when #LUFC became 'the last true champions' of English football. It would be the first win at Stamford Bridge since 1999, when Frank Leboef was sent off and Stephen McPhail bagged a brace. Leeds are without Struijk and Stach, but Bijol is back and in contention. Pre-match thoughts: this will be an extraordinarily tough game and a draw would be as good as a win. Away from fortress Elland Road, Leeds have been awful, but every game is an opportunity to change that and this Leeds team have beaten Chelsea once already this season. Prediction: 2-2
