Every day this government delays, families fall further behind. Costs keep rising - and still people are being told to wait for another meeting next Tuesday. This is a complete failure of leadership when people need it most. I will keep the pressure on. The solution is there. Scrap fuel taxes. Support working people. Action now.

I put it directly to Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan that the families of those who lost loved ones in the Creeslough tragedy should not have to fight just to get a meeting with him. His ongoing refusal to meet with those families is unacceptable.

Cut the cost of petrol, diesel and home heating oil. Scrap the carbon tax increase. Deliver real cost of living support for workers and families. The government can do this with the stroke of a pen by backing our legislation tonight. Working people are under real pressure filling their cars and heating their homes - on top of groceries, electricity and other essentials. The government needs to listen and act now. I will keep doing all I can to have your back.

People are struggling and they need support now. I’m speaking to people every day who are under real pressure with the cost of heating their homes and filling their cars. This is on top of groceries, electricity, and other essentials. Government needs to listen. They need to act. I’ll keep doing everything I can to have your back and get the support families need.

Rise in home-heating oil prices in Ireland dwarfs other parts of Europe. The hike in prices has been eight times the EU average, figures obtained by Dublin MEP Lynn Boylan show. independent.ie/business/money…

I was in Donegal today to meet with families of those who lost loved ones, and who were injured in the Creeslough tragedy. We support their call for an independent public inquiry to get to the truth. It is imperative that Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan meet with the families without delay.

Scrap the planned carbon tax increase, reduce taxes on petrol, diesel and home heating oil during this crisis, and bring forward real cost-of-living support for workers and families. Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael could do this with the stroke of a pen - but they refuse. What are they waiting for? I will keep pushing to see action for you and your family.

Government must act to reduce taxes on fuel. They cannot keep ignoring the warnings from Irish hauliers and the growing pressure soaring fuel prices are putting on workers, families and small businesses. As many fill up their car this morning on the way to work or the school run - and as households see their heating oil tanks running low - people are counting every extra euro. Money people need for groceries, electricity and other essentials. These increases can’t simply be absorbed. Government must stop this ‘wait and see’ approach and intervene now: scrap the planned carbon tax increase, reduce taxes on petrol, diesel and home heating oil during this crisis, and bring forward a cost of living package with real support for workers and families.

⛽️ The government takes in up to 65% tax on every euro you spend on fuel. Fuel prices continue to soar as supplies are refilled at higher costs, with diesel now over €2 per litre in some parts of the country. People can’t absorb these increases. The government needs to show leadership and intervene now: scrap the planned carbon tax increase, reduce taxes on petrol, diesel, and home heating oil during this crisis, and bring forward real support for workers and families.

People are watching fuel costs soar while the government sits back and does nothing but make things worse. They have failed to stand up to powerful companies and tackle price gouging - and families are paying the price. We need leadership, and we need action. People can’t wait any longer - they need support now.

Today Sinn Féin introduced legislation in the Dáil to crack down on price gouging, end the energy rip-off and bring energy costs down for good. Families here are paying the highest energy prices in Europe with hundreds of thousands now behind on their bills - a direct result of the choices made by Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael. The government now has a clear choice: protect the massive profits of big energy companies, or stand up for workers and families.

The government has admitted that companies are price gouging as fuel costs soar - yet they refuse to act. Today they ruled out bringing forward cost-of-living supports. That is the wrong call. This comes just weeks before government imposes another carbon tax increase on fuel in May - a political choice by this government that will only make life harder for workers and families. Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are standing aside while companies exploit a crisis and families pay the price. Words of acknowledgment are not enough. We need leadership and we need action. These companies must be reined in, and the government must act now to protect Irish households.

The government must act now to stop companies using the crisis in the Middle East as cover to hike prices. Home heating oil costs are surging while families are already stretched to the limit by rip-off bills. Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael must scrap the carbon tax increase, bring forward real cost-of-living supports, and stop price gouging driven by pure greed. People need a government that stands up for them - not one that stands back while companies cash in.

The government needs to stop making life harder for people and introduce a cost of living package now. Today’s inflation data confirms what households already know - the cost of everyday basics continues to rise. Food and energy prices are up again, adding more pressure on workers and families who are already struggling. People need the government to have their back, yet they ripped away the cost of living support that so many relied on. That decision was wrong. They need to listen to families, provide immediate support - including energy credits, and deliver long-term solutions to end this rip-off and make life more affordable.
