A huge congratulations to our Conveyancing Assistant, Natasha Cane, for passing her first Council for Licensed Conveyancers Exam. We are very proud of her, and Emily Holland, for studying for their qualifications and doing so well in their exams. Well done to you both!

A few more photos from the opening of the @kingston chamber expo yesterday. Some really interesting speeches from Forbes Low, Chief Exec of the Chamber, Ed Davey MP and also Kingston's Mayor, Sushila Abraham.

After consideration of the Coronavirus rules coming into effect on 19 July, we have decided to continue to ask staff and clients to wear face coverings during face to face meetings. We will continue to review this decision and will update everyone with any changes.

The Government has committed to 6 April 2022 for the introduction of the "no fault" divorce law. It is later than originally planned, due to updates to IT systems that will be required. However, at least there is finally a date set - ow.ly/kHr850F5t3W

It doesn't come as a huge surprise, but another frustrating piece of news for landlords. The Government has just extended it's ban on residential evictions from 31 March to end of May now. The partial ban on commercial forfeiture will also be extended.

Happy International Women’s Day. At Pearson Hards we are incredibly fortunate to have some incredible women who are part of our team and here are just a few of them. We are so grateful for the contribution they all bring and the amazing individual attributes they have.

We will be attending the virtual Kingston Business Expo this year. We have missed the real life versions of these events but the online ones are an equally good opportunity to speak to different people. We hope you will be joining us. @KingstonExpo

The current ban on evictions has been extended again until 31 March 2021. That means that all evictions, apart from those involving squatters, anti social behaviour and serious rent arrears, will have to wait. This will be another devastating blow to landlords.

MP’s are going to debate extending the stamp duty holiday next Monday (1 February). The holiday has certainly kept the property market alive during the pandemic. Do you think it should be extended or not?
