@Steelers_DB This is the Rodgers argument imo - They don't see a viable long term guy who can start immediately available - If they can't get that guy, they need another bandaid, ideally a guy happy to mentor young QBs Don't like it, but might be the lesser evil

The McCarthy hire was/is a tough sell on many levels, but it's clear that the org was convinced that he could fix their QB issues. To not even try to develop someone in 2026 and waste another season would be a baffling decision. I don't know how much more evidence we need that Aaron isn't someone that can take you anywhere worth pursuing. 2022: Packers EPA/play- 21st Success rate- 21st 2023: (Achilles) 2024: Jets EPA/play- 19th Success rate-24th 2025: Steelers EPA/play- 22nd Success rate- 28th You cannot continue to do this lol

Was finally able to watch this... Couple (medicated) takeaways... -First, good for Mike. You can tell this is his dream job, which is cool. -Second, I actually thought there was some insightful takeaways in here, but I remain extremely skeptical of anyone who has Rodgers play over the past 3-4 seasons and thinks that is a desirable skill set for the games most important position. He even acknowledged the QB's ability to extend to make plays and the evolution of running threats as the biggest change from now to 20 years ago. That gave me deja vu to like... the last 5+ years. Every time a microphone was in front of Tomlin/Art/Omar's face, QB mobility became this buzz word. But the guys they have previously identified at that position have been the antithesis of what works in the league.

@Steelers_DB Yeah and even got a question. Seen a lot of chat about how important having a do it all nickel back is in this NFL - guys like Emmanwori, DeJean, Hamilton... could Payton Wilson become one of these guys, or am I way overestimating his coverage skills because of his RAS scores?

The Aaron Rodgers self-completion and the MacMillan interception are identical plays. But with different reffing results. Reffing's tough but with video replay that's indefensible and that's a league not worth watching.

My new hobby is writing lengthy posts on sports forums then deleting them when I realise it'll get me sucked into an argument that will change absolutely nothing about anything.

@Steelers_DB Every time I see a variant of this I think of the Pats. They fire Belichick, it does indeed go as badly as possible - and they're rewarded with Maye & are back in the playoffs in a heartbeat The NFL is a who dares wins situation. Delighted to be daring, even if the odds are bad

This season in the NFL we've had two guys spitting, one punch in the nuts and a lot of pretty mediocre sport. All good reasons to pay less attention.

@jmarshfof I agree but... ... you don't kinda want to see him with Sid to see what havoc they could wreak together? Not just a little peek?

Gonna say it again. Do not move 81 to the wing. He is a center. The freedom he has to lurk, linger, and make drives downhill is part of his total package. Let him dominate the middle lane. He will make things happen.
