@imavibeanywhere This was the first song that made me cry. Sob uncontrollably. Didn’t fully know why, but having read this I know. Thank you. 💜

Now the line that really gets under my skin is: “Every day I go to kill you.” And I do not think that “you” has to mean one single thing. In fact, I think the reason the line is so powerful is because it can hold multiple meanings all at once. It could be killing a version of themselves. It could be killing innocence. It could be killing the softer self that cannot survive the machine. It could be killing the dream by overfeeding it. It could be killing obsession. It could be killing the life they never got to live. It could even be killing off the parts of themselves they have to keep sacrificing in order to continue. And when that line is followed by the feeling of not being able to quit the dream, that’s where the song really twists the knife. Because now the question becomes: If the dream is hurting you, but it is also the thing you love most, then what exactly are you supposed to do with that? That is the real conflict of this song. Not “I want out” in some simple way. Not “I regret it.” Not “I wish I were never BTS.” No. It sounds more like: I love this thing. I was made for this thing. I do not want to lose this thing. But this thing is also chewing on me, and some days I don’t know where I end, and the machine begins. That is why I think this song is much more painful than it looks at first. Because they are not saying they want to stop being artists. They are saying they are scared of becoming machinery. And that, to me, is the heartbreak of it all. The carousel is the version the world claps for. The hamster wheel is what it feels like inside. Same circle. Same spinning. Same trap. And somewhere in the middle of all that, the child-heart in them is still screaming to be free.

All right, guys, this is my second theory. This time, it's “Merry Go Round.” The song doesn’t have a video yet. I wanted to wait for it, but I think the lyrics are enough to discern the message. Let me know if you agree or feel differently. And yes, tissues are needed 🤧! I’m sorry for my faults 😏💜. Okay, let’s get it 🤓👇🏽 What I think this song is really doing is saying something a little darker than just, “I’m tired.” I think “Merry Go Round” is about a life system that is both beautiful and imprisoning at the same time. That’s the real sadness of it. Because BTS loves what they do. I don't question that for a second. They are artists to their core. They are creators. They are performers. They are men who were built to make, to write, to sing, to dance, to express. But at the same time, the very thing they love is also the thing that has boxed them in, exhausted them, taken pieces of them, and kept them in motion for so long that I don’t even know if they’ve had the space to ask themselves what stopping would even look like. And that’s why the merry-go-round and hamster wheel line is so poetically tragic in the best way. Because those are not the same image, but they are the same trap. A merry-go-round is pretty. Nostalgic. Decorated. Almost magical. It looks soft. It looks dreamy. It looks like childhood. A hamster wheel is repetitive labor. Running, running, running, and going nowhere. It looks pathetic. Clinical. Trapped. But the point of the lyric is that they are the exact same motion. That is fame. That is idol life. That is success when it starts owning you back. To the public, it appears to be a carousel. It’s beautiful. It’s glamorous. It’s desired. It’s something everybody wants a ticket to. But for the person inside it, it can feel like the hamster wheel. Constant movement. No real exit. No real stillness. No matter how much they achieve, no matter how many records they break, no matter how many stadiums they sell out, they still have to wake up and do it again. And again. And again. That’s why this song had some of us in tears at first listen. We understand what it feels like to be trapped in a cycle that never ends, but also the inability to stop it, always repeating the same actions over and over again. Because I don’t hear them saying they hate their lives. I hear them saying, " This dream costs more than people understand. And I really think we have to talk about the fact that these men started this life as teenagers. Most of them have been in this machine since around 2010. They grew up in public. They became adults while the world was watching. So when Yoongi says it feels like he became an adult, but his worries are still the same, that line is heavy. It sounds like somebody who was forced to mature fast, but never really got the luxury of developing slowly and privately the way regular people do. They got the dream, yes. But they also lost the chance to just be normal boys becoming men without all this weight attached to it. And that matters when we get to the line about “my inner child is screaming.”

“Will you be watching?” Netflix, be serious. ARMY have already rearranged their entire week around this. And ARMY are not “watching.” We are gathering. Real question, @netflix,did you secure the servers? Because “ARMY live event traffic” is not regular human traffic. It’s an international incident waiting to happen.💜🫶 #BTSLive  #netflixbts  #btsliveOnNetflix

My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.
