Following harrowing testimony from French nationals detained by Israel, France has now referred reports of sexual violence, beatings and humiliation against Global Sumud Flotilla activists to prosecutors. On 21 May, I wrote to the Foreign Secretary demanding urgent action over the interception of the flotilla in international waters, and the detention and degrading treatment of humanitarian volunteers, including British citizens.
