@W_R_Emory Bill, why aren’t you addressing the root issue? They said it themselves- uncompensated care. This is a direct result of our “sanctuary city” policies. Like it or not, large amounts of undocumented people use ERs like their primary care doctor, and can’t/don’t pay.

We can't afford to let it close. The State Legislature has yet to pass a plan that would provide HCMC the resources needed to stay open. Hennepin County has a plan; we need your help.

HCMC is teetering on the brink of closure. Federal cuts to health care have put hospitals all over the country on the brink. HCMC is a world-class teaching hospital and a level-1 trauma center with programs, services, and therapies that are unmatched in the Upper Midwest.

If Somalians are the backbone of Minnesota, why are nearly 80% of them still on welfare after being here for 10+ years?

@Pechumes @ksorbs I never said a vast majority of somalians in Minnesota are not on welfare/ public benefits. But ....being on welfare seems to be an American problem. Many Americans that work at Walmart, Amazon, McDonalds, Uber... all rely on public benefits.

@a70sgirl @TheMagelk @KSTP You’re thinking of the “Feeding our Future” fraud case. Completely separate than the most recent daycare fraud, which is just now being uncovered and investigated. Try to keep up

In a span of eight years, Minnesota paid out more than $67 million to the nine daycares that were raided by the feds last week, according to state data obtained by 5 INVESTIGATES.

@a_adib0 @ksorbs The article I sent wasn’t about daycare, it was about Somalians being on welfare and remaining on welfare long after they’ve immigrated here.

@a_adib0 @ksorbs …..original poster said the vast majority of Somalians in Minnesota are on welfare/receive public benefits. You said “I’d have to look at the sources”. I sent a source that directly supports the claim, and then you try to move the goalposts to talk about McDonald’s and Walmart?

@a_adib0 @sr_erick @DoryBeutel @KSTP No, but the feds just raided 9 daycares, and that takes a lot of evidence to secure a search warrant, so there’s obviously SOMETHING going on.

@Pechumes @NickJFreitas @CBSNews If all of this happened. Where are the arrests? Harassment is still against the law. MAgA have left that law stand for now. All of those supervisors who bullied and canceled the investigation teams should be prosecuted.

A recent video by conservative YouTuber Nick Shirley alleged nearly a dozen day care centers in Minnesota that are receiving public funds are not actually providing any service. After the video went viral, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem announced a "massive investigation on childcare and other rampant fraud" in the state. CBS News conducted its own analysis of nearly a dozen day care centers mentioned by Shirley: all but two have active licenses, according to state records, and all active locations were visited by state regulators within the last six months. CBS News' review also found dozens of citations related to safety, cleanliness, equipment, and staff training, among other violations, but there was no recorded evidence of fraud.

@Lor_blueeyes @NickJFreitas @CBSNews “If all of this happened”…. So you choose not to believe the victims, simply because it was the democrats who are in the wrong? How very “progressive” of you.

@Lor_blueeyes @NickJFreitas @CBSNews I mean- in the case of the MN fraud, it is absolutely the fault of the democratic leadership. There were numerous whistleblowers over the years who were retaliated against for speaking out, being called racist by Democrat leadership.

@Pechumes @NickJFreitas @CBSNews I said “the investigation” referring to the MN investigation Not all investigations. But yes. Biden’s government fought against fraud, Trump’s government is fighting against fraud. Trumpers are claiming the fraud is due to Biden and democrats, it’s not. It’s due to thieves.

@Lor_blueeyes @NickJFreitas @CBSNews 1: no one said this is “MN only” problem. 2: yes- Trump has pardoned fraudsters, which is idiotic. 3: “the same type of fraud”- yea, they’re saying they’re providing services, and making up numbers. You said “this was all uncovered during biden”, which is just patently untrue

Prove it’s happening. You don’t want evidence. You want clicks. Like that wannabe Loomer « journalist » All locations should be investigated, they had audits. There were no violations of fraud. The fraud violations were investigated and some condemned in 2022. If you have other info bring it. Until then, this is just noise by Trump who wants to continue his Antiimmigrant agenda. And yes. FarRighters are a WhiteNationalist, thus racists, because they accuse 200k Somalians of the horrible and punishable crimes of a few.

It’s actually far dumber. He said “We want to sign up little Joey for daycare” with a camera crew as if that’s how parents sign up or talk about their own children.

@Ilhan There are about 35,000 homeless veterans in the U.S. 14 million kids in the U.S. live in “food insecure” homes. Before sending billions to other countries, we need to take care of our problems at home first. We’re $35 trillion in debt.

@BrandonGenz @kentucky_kiwi Right, but people have a right to voice their displeasure. The same reason people protest Trump, or the state of Minnesota defies Trumps orders. Or are they wrong too because “people get elected and do things and that’s just how it goes”
