Hi, I thought I'd summarize my thoughts about Playstation Portal ( PSP ) and it's based on what I want and need! 🟦 First of all that it is important that everyone understands that the new PSP is not a handheld console but an accessory for the PS5, it feels like a lot of people are trying to distort what it actually is. 🟦I can't use my mobile for gaming, I have work, family and other things that take up all the mobile time I have more or less. So a Backbone or a clip for the phone is not on the table. 🟦Many evenings I sit with the family and maybe don't want to leave the company but want to play, here it will be perfect for me to be able to sit next to my partner and play, and still get the closeness. 🟦The first 6 months of 2023 I spend almost 40 days in hotels without my PS5 with me, this is really a perfect solution for the evenings when I have free time.(work related) 🟦199$ is a pretty good price for a dedicated screen and controller, as a backbone is 99$ without a screen, haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, touchscreen and the Playstation Link tech. 🟦I do understand that it's really not a product for everyone, if you have a screen free all the time and can play when you like, I don't see a direct need for a PSP, maybe if you're on the move a lot. 🟦I think it is downright bad that there is no bluetooth in the PSP, it would have been a simple thing to fix as many have headsets that require it, personally I will get the Pulse Elite and maybe even the Pulse Explore, depending on what Apple does with their earbuds. What do you think about the new PSP, will you get it?

It’s become pretty apparent to me that $200 isn’t a big deal to you, so you can make purchase decisions like this with less discretion. A product like that is a failure in this economy, much like psvr2. It will flop.

@ALincToThePast @barret_oblivion @alternative365k @ACatNamedOlive @Tidux It feels extremely similar to me, just more spacious, less cramped and the paddle buttons are a really nice touch. If you want more of a “winged” controller feel, you can pick up a case with bigger handles for like 20 bucks

I mean sure but the decks button layout is basically modelled after a PS/switch while you can get a cover with grips for comfort for like... 5$?

If you had some hands on time with a deck you might come to that conclusion as well, but you appear to have your mind made up on a psportal. I hate to sound like a shill for it but I’ve been gaming for 25 years and the steam deck is the single most consumer friendly piece of tech I’ve ever laid my hands on. It’s honestly incredible the freedom valve gives you.Meanwhile Sony baits users to buy proprietary earbuds
