Perdomo is one of the smarter hitters in the league and he knew the slider wasn’t going to be a strike that entire AB. He was sitting fastball and was shafted. It happens.

For baseball nerds like me, this is the problem I have with the ABS system coming to MLB. It was a strike when it crossed the plate. And was correctly called. But by time catcher caught it, looked low. ABS challenge system will call it a ball. I say let the umps call it. FWIW.

Unbelievably stupid narrative. I hate it. What’s bad for the league is gatekeeping who can break records and who can’t. A dude scored 83 points. Doesn’t matter if it’s a guy like Luka Doncic or Bam Adebayo. That’s an incredible accomplishment and something we might not see again. It shows how versatile the league is now and how guys with talent have the ability to go off. I’m happy for Bam and Heat fans. Should flex that for the rest of their lives.
