When I started teaching 18 years ago, I would have agreed. Now my kid has a NHS diagnosis of a rare inflammatory brain condition panspandasuk.org/post/nhs-engla… This framing dismisses the very real expertise clinicians bring. Its dangerous. We aren’t neurologists for a reason.

@W1986Rebecca They’re all very much acceptable but whether this means we should compromise what they might learn and achieve is another thing.

@Pekabelo I absolutely agree that there are wider systemic issues here. However, if teachers start questioning the relevancy of medical diagnoses such as ADHD, anxiety etc…where do we draw the line? Which conditions are acceptable and which are not? That becomes a very slippery slope.

Superb presentations today from @ssat on implementing change following the @EducEndowFoundn guidance. I have written 30 slides already on my initial thoughts waiting for my plane back to Jersey. Exactly what I (we) needed!
