Yard-O-Led re-introduces their classic model ‘The Ambassador.’ penherostore.com Search “AMBASSADOR” Originally launched in 1994, but out of production for years, The Ambassador is a heavier design than The Standard model, giving a weighty feel to a classic writing instrument. At just over 43 grams, it is largest of the ballpoint and pencil models within the Yard-O-Led range and its diameter of 10mm presents an impactful writing instrument. Subtlety embellished with engine turned patterns currently of three designs and one with a plain polished barrel. The Barley-Wave, Honeycomb, and Cypher patterns are unique to the Ambassador range. The patterns are new commercial designs for Yard-O-Led’s engine turning machines created from historic pattern bars achieved in the workshop’s safe. These ballpoint pens and 1.18mm pencils are crafted entirely from solid 925 sterling silver.

Sheaffer Valor 2006-2012 The first completely new Sheaffer model since the Intrigue in 2000, the Valor was the company’s first truly international pen. Designed in Germany to compete directly with the leading German marques. It features a cap and barrel crafted from highly polished machined acrylic in Italy. According to the August 6, 2008 Sheaffer presentation "Sheaffer Writing Instruments Learning Guide" the nib unit was made in Germany, the first time the inlaid nib was not made in Fort Madison, Iowa—Sheaffer’s home since 1913. In speaking with Sheaffer contacts at the time I was told that Peter Bock GmbH was making them, but I don't have official confirmation. The pen in the photo is a c. 1959 Tuckersharpe Ink-Master, but that’s only the beginning and end of this story… Any story about Tuckersharpe pens and pencils needs to start with Percy Albert Tucker, the company’s namesake. He was the son of Percy Randolph Tucker and Sallie Ann Jackson Tucker who had a tobacco farm in Dinwiddie County, Virginia. This would be some 25 miles south of Richmond crossing through Chesterfield county. Dinwiddie County is adjacent to Petersburg, an independent city in Virginia.
